These scams are on Craigslist all the time with all kinds of variations - I am on an army base and got relocated, I am overseas and won't be back for a while, I just got divorced and want to get rid of my ex's car - and it's always packed away in a shipping container so you can't see it. Wake up and remember - when the deal's too good to be true, it isn't.
The same scam goes in reverse too. Like, I am overseas on an oil rig and want to buy this car for my son as a present. Just send me your name, address, email and paypal info so I can send the money and my shipper or agent will pick it up. Or use the Google account to receive the money. As soon as you tell them to wire the money to the shipping agent and have him bring over the cash and then take the car/boat/whatever, you never hear from them again. This is a scam and you have to be pretty dumb to fall for it, but people are always looking for what they think is a good deal and that's why they do it.

Lmao.... In my case it was only $6 less then the current value.... It wasn't one of those you see where it's a z06 2007 for 7000 dollars... Those are obvious, this was 15k for the boat and it was the winter time so a bit understandable on the price being on the lower side of normal...

Nashville Tennessean had an ad for an '07 Z06 with 9,400 miles, 2LZ package with the notation MUST SELL back on 7/13. It had a Memphis, TN, phone number and a note to text or call for more info. The price was $20,000.00! Sent two texts, called four times, on that Saturday, no response until Wednesday and I get a text from Judith Henderson offering to send photos if I wanted them. DO I EVER!! I get an email with six photos and the car looks great, black with gray interior, mileage on odometer agrees with the ad. "Judith" has just gotten a divorce and doesn't need the car.
So I send a reply - It looks like you're in Memphis. I can be there in 4 hours with cash or cashier's check. No reply. Send another message - where's the car?? Your phone is Memphis but the background scenery looks like California (I knew that because there is a Kilroy Realty sign in the background of one of the photos and they are strictly West Coast). Finally get a message back that she wanted to start over, moved to Omaha, NE, the car is in a shipping container ready to go to its new home. I can pay with Google Wallet without worry since they won't release the money to her until I give them the go ahead to do so.
So I send a note back - no need to ship. There is a flight on Friday from Nashville that puts me in Omaha at 11:09 and I can drive the car home and be back by midnight. And again, I'll bring 200 $100.00 bills or a cashier's check. Just let me know which you prefer.
All this has to be on the up and up - right?
I haven't heard anything else from "Judith". I probably missed out on the deal of the decade. Whaddaya think?

LOL, the one I almost bit on was a eBay ad, I had bid on the car, I was a legitimate sale someone did buy the car.
Someone else contacted me through email with a pro lookin eBay " second chance" purchase, as the original buyer passed. After talkin with the so called owner for a bit they mentioned escrow in the Chek republic, that raised the neck hairs, lol
