Anyone build a frankenstein exhaust system? Show some pictures.
I have been toying with idea and searching for the right deal. Currently running Corsa Indy dual tips and very pleased with the sound and no resonance. But what fun is that? So anyway was able to pick up a set of B&B Bullet's that had been in a fender bender. Really the damage was in the tips. Going to cut the tips off and weld in a tip. Anyone else do this with a system? Going to custom install a SLP tip onto the B&B's. I will get pictures up as I go along. Show us some pictures of your custom system.

Supporting Vendor
LG superpro headers, Borla Stinger (used to be quad tip). Had them modified to be twin exit with 4" rolled tip exit from jegs:

Has a nice hum at cruise, A meaty growl at idle and roars on throttle. Love it!
Just after being modified:
Looks much better with the larger custom exhaust plate:

thats how my PRTs are, loud when you give it some gas and fairly tame while cruising. yeah my exhaust guy said finding tips would be a little difficult and yeah i would assume those bullets would definitely get a bit obnoxious with your set up

Zach, Let me see what I come up with. If your interested. I might consider trading you my Corsa Indy's for your damaged tip PRT's. They are the quad tip.

i'd have to hear them in person and really like them cause the PRTs sounds pretty sweet haha and i'm not sure if i want to let them go yet in case i do any engine work and the xr-1 system gets too loud

Burning Brakes
I live in Northern Virginia where the inspections are brutal for both mechanical and emissions.
In order to comply with all laws, I had to be very careful with the components and configuration of my exhaust system.
I went with JBA LT Headers, with both cats kept in..........and a used X pipe and a Titanium Z06 system. Sounds great, passes inspection and adds a bit of horsepower. Plus at under a $ 1000 dollars, it is hard to beat.
New JBA Long Tube Headers
Used Catted Mid pipe with X pipe
Used Z06 Axle back exhaust

I'm really interested to see how this turns out. I have an SLP tip, but sold the rest of the axleback because it was just too loud.
I'm really trying to run some magnaflows or something, but I don't want to run bullets....I want an actual muffler.
The only mufflers I've found that emulate the stock in/out on one side are magnaflows and flowmasters. There is no way I'd use flowmasters on a corvette lol.

My car is still at the shop getting tuned. As soon as I get it back I will start the process of getting the B&Bs matched up with the SLP tip.
