I think the C5 is still such a timeless design. I don't think it looks older even sitting next to a C7. First of all, the C7 looks chunkier and heavier. Even though the dimensions might be the same or similar, it gives the illusion of being bigger. All the character lines of new car design in general will tend to make new cars look older and dated faster. The C5 still looks sleek and smooth. All that being said, I like the C7 for the most part but I'm not dying to get into one. My Z06 still excites me every time I get into it, even after owning it for 10 years. Many people who see it have no idea it is as old as it is. I haven't even mentioned the C6. That's because I didn't like their looks when I first saw them and I still don't. I thought eventually I'd get used to it but that never happened. On the other hand, the very first time I saw a C5, I fell in love with it immediately, and I still feel the same.

You want to talk about dated? The hideous rear end, LEDs around the headlights, carbon fiber everywhere. It's dated already.

The comparison would have been better if both cars were the same color. (no fault of the OP!!). I loved the C5 the minute I saw it, not so with C7, (at the NY auto show). I like the C5 so much I just picked up a low mileage vert' to go with my C6Z.

So I love my C5 and like others have said the design, though "dated" still is an attention getter. Regarding the C7 I think it also is a beatuiful design and if you dont like the rear, it didn't take long for vendors to come up with conversion kits as follows:

I love the "Warning"

Quite the opposite. Change can be great, C4-C5/C6 was great. C1-C2 was great. C2-C3 was great-ish. There are too many people talking about getting used to this new C7. It was not a great evolution in style. If it was, I would have instantly falled in love with this car- just like I did with the C5.

When I see the C7 I see an exotic Sports Car, different for direction for Corvette. When I look at the C5 I see a Sexy Machine that is in stealth mode. I like them both, just different.

This is what the C7 styling compares to.
