Default heater/ ac fan blower motor

my 2004 coupe, 20 k miles, fan does not blow at all. the little lights go
up or down with switch lever, but it will not run fan at all. it won't work
with heat, ac or just vented air. could it be the switch, fuse, relay or
what? if its one of above, where would they be located? any suggs.
would really be appreciated as i'm 75 and its not easy to crawl around
any more. thanks, jerry.

Default Could be a fuse, electronic module or bad fan

Mine had a bad electronic speed control module. It is located under passenger side of dash after removing trim panel. 3 screws and up in the right corner. When replacing only got 2 screws tight. Before spending $100 for the module I got to the fan wiring and jumpered 12 volts to the fan motor to see if it was OK. It is in the same area about a foot or so further toward the center of the dash. There is a large square 30 Amp fuse in the circuit. Think it is in the fuse box also under the dash above the foot well. Mine kept blowing that fuse. As I remember it is red.
Check the fuse first. It might be in the fuse box under the hood but I think it is under the dash.

I forgot to mention, but I removed my old battery last fall and replaced it with a new one this spring, so I don't know if this had
anything to do with that. I have heard that sometimes when you
remove the battery that you have to reset things. I don't know if
that's true or not. be simpler if it was.

I had a bit of HVAC issues last year. Replaced module, then blower fan. Turned out it was the control unit. Ping Bill Curlee or lucky131969. They are a wealth of info. Important detail will be if you have dual zone CC or not.

This spring my fan wouldnt run. Tool the fan motor out and it had a mouse nest in it. Cleaned it out and works fine.

I had a similar problem on my 2000. The A/C drain clogged up and instead of the water from the evaporator dripping out on the ground, it backed up and filled the blower motor up with water. I don't know what genius designed that but the design leaves something to be desired. The blower motor is behind the glove box. I just dropped the motor out, drained the water and it ran fine (for about a week). I eventually had to replace the motor but I was able to get one at Autozone and it works just fine now. if you get a bath when you drop out the motor, I recommend you save yourself some time and replace the motor. Oh, don't forget to openup your evaporator drain. It's in the engine compartment, on the firewall, roughly in front of where the glove box is, maybe a little lower. It's kind of a bitch to get to. Silicone spray in it or maybe some WD-40 will help to stop it from sticking together again.

The ONLY way to keep mice out is to pull the cowl and screen every entry area.

Just replaced my blower motor... what is the rubber hose for that connects to the motor armature housing? Where does it lead to?

The rubber hose provides cooling air to the blower motor. It plugs into the plastic blower casing near the motor.
