exhaust tips carbon removal tip
I always use to use metal polish to get the carbon off my exhaust tips until now. Dont get me wrong polish works great to bring them to a luster, but is slow to remove the stubborn carbon. I now use the same product I use to clean carbon from my firearms. It is called bore tech c4 carbon remover. I just put some on a rag and it just wipes it write off almost instantly. You can buy it from many online distributors. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

bore tech c4 carbon remover.
Can it be used on a C5???
Just kidding, sounds like a good idea. Do you think any bore cleaner will work? Since I have some other types for my guns, I may try them first.

wd40. I'm finding more and more uses for that. I now use it to kill wasp nests. Works great and cheaper. I discovered it is the best thing to prevent acid build up on battery terminals.

It is not a good idea to use steel wool on stainless steel parts. The abrasion removes the protective passivation layer on the stainless steel and the wool can embed steel particles and cause the stainless steel to rust. I'm not saying that if you use steel wool you WILL rust your stainless steel parts but why risk it when there are good non-ferrous materials such as Scotch brite or a brass pot scrubber to use on your stainless steel parts. Chlorine based abrasive cleaners (such as Comet) are also not good for stainless steel.
