Like this shot best.
I know many like the all stock look. But it just wasn't working for me. It seemed out dated and retro.just not aggressive looking. . I think the changes ,make it look much more modern and aggressive.

Plus the black halo looks better just like the black clear targa top. Hence why GM blacked out the halos on the 2013 ZR1.

That is a nice improvement sir, I dig the black halo especially. I agree, a little more modern looking somehow.

I'm personally not a fan of the black out look and have seen plenty of them during the day where the brake lights are barely visible. I say if you want to run them, do so at your own risk but don't come on here complaining if you get a ticket or rear ended.
Well if I was going to get a ticket it would be at work...I am a correction officer at Sheriff Dept and the car is parked right there every day.Never had a Deputy ,Sheriff or Undersheriff ever say anything except "I like your car"

Cool!
I don't run a front plate in NJ and haven't gotten a ticket yet......but that doesn't mean it's legal.

Just a suggestion, but why not delete the wrong pictures instead of just saying wrong pictures. Save a little bandwidth. You can edit and change or delete them.

The 3 of my calipers were in a separate post already posted. Was there a way to eliminate them even after the post?

I wish that were the case. The NYS law states that ANY modification to brake lights is illegal and ticketable.

Click on the post, click on "edit" and highlight the text (including the brackets) for the pictures and right click, hit "delete". Then click save. Or, just put the cursor at the end and backspace until the text that is the pictures is all gone. Your typing will stay, the pictures will disappear. Any way that you delete the text that is actually the link to the pictures will work.

I just read N.Y.VAT 375 law again and it clearly states two tail lights that illuminate red 1000 feet..Brake lights that illuminate red 500 feet...But when I go to work on Monday I'll ask the local D.A. for clarification..I kept my high mount brake red as a reflector..

It's a FEDERAL regulation, a requirement for ALL vehicles in ALL 50 states.
http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regul...px?reg=571.108

Whether a LEO wants to give you a ticket for it is likely up to his discretion, but the simple fact is that he can if he wants to.

If someone wants to run blackouts then go ahead, I guess I just don't understand the point of making yourself LESS visible

You've got a fine looking car, but in all honesty I like it with the stock taillights and the yellow halo.

Now if you decided to paint the lower portion of the rear fascia black, I think that would go very well with the car. But as long as you're happy, that's what counts.

Boy, thanks. I'll have to investigate further. A cop told me what I said so that's what I was going on. Your post will make me do my homework. I hope you're right.

Edit: yumpin' yiminie... I think you're right.

Article 375 Section 40(b) says:

(b) Every motor vehicle, except a motorcycle, operated or driven upon the public highways of the state, if manufactured on or after January first, nineteen hundred fifty-two, shall be equipped with at least two stop lamps, one on each side, each of which shall display a red to amber light visible at least five hundred feet from the rear of the vehicle when the brake of such vehicle is applied.

My lights are a red cherry dip coating that was done by corvette enhancements. This by far is the best looking way to tint . They light up very nice. No way in hell would I go back. And believe it or not I'm a (love the stock look kind of guy) Just a few tweaks and my car looks better than most of the $18000 C5s I see on the road. As you all say IMO.

Article 375 Section 40(b) says:
Check DOT Federal Regulations Part 571 Standard No. 108 S8.1 .....
along with NY Article 376 Section 1(b)
" In promulgating such rules and regulations the commissioner shall be guided
by the requirements with regard to lights, reflectors, signaling devices
and associated equipment on vehicles of rules and regulations
promulgated by the United States department of transportation.

Huh? That's just gooblie-gook to me.

So before promoting any law they have to check with the US DOT.... ok and that means... ?

In short, it means state codes have to comply with federal regulations: such as the requirement of the reflex reflectors as stated in DOT Federal Regulations Part 571 Standard No. 108.

To put it simply, covering the tail lights on a C5 is illegal.

Gotta throw 20% at the windows now... Complete the look!

Or just legal tint. Darken it up a bit.
