Default C5 purchase question

Hi all

I have narrowed my search to 3 triple black C5 convertibles all with magnetic ride

2002 37000 miles new tires aftermarket goodies $26500

2002 35000 miles new tires few yrs ago $26500 obo..so poss $25000?

2003 16124 miles 50th anniversary $28000 firm

My question: Is the 03 with less than 1/2 the mileage of the others worth $2000 to $3000 more? Or is 35000 miles on an 2002 nothing to worry about?

Thanks for your help in advance

The 35 or 37,000 is still a low mileage car with nothing to worry about.
Even if the '03 is the Anniversary Edition (red with shale interior-see my album) the price seem a little high. Pricing depends on location.

the question is; are they worth it to you?

They all seem high to me but I'm not familiar with your area. People thought I paid too much when I gave 23K for my 03 M6 coupe with 30k miles. But it's in immaculate shape and was just what I was looking for, so for me the price was fine.

Just a word of caution on the mag ride; if it goes out, and it *will*, you're looking at a grand PER SHOCK minimum to have it fixed. I passed on quite a few solely because they had that option and I didn't want any part of it. Your money, your decision though.

Good luck.

Well 2002 does have a few less issues than the 2003. I have a 2002 C5 coupe and its got 108,000 miles and i haven't had any engine/computer problems. i'd go with the Second one

It's a buyers market at this time of the year. All 3 are a tad high. Don't be soft with negotiating. Offer any of them at least 3-4k off their asking price.

Don't let them scare you. I've had four with the F45 ride control, and none went bad. My current one has 85k miles on it. The 03 with the F55 is one I haven't had, but I've never heard of them going bad in crazily high numbers. To tell you the truth, I haven't ever seen much difference in the different ride control settings, but maybe that's just me. If any of your shocks do go bad, you can either replace it, or go to standard shocks all the way around. It's not as big a deal as these guys make it.

You would choke at the $29K I paid for my 04 CE Z w/ 29K miles. Only Z around and here in California, everything is more expensive.

Congratulations. You can't go wrong with triple black, (unless you hate washing 'em)

Pictures are required in the near future.
