01 z06 for $16,700 should I buy it? (Miami)
Ok, I went to see this car today and drove 4hrs each way to do it. The car seems really nice at first glance and has bullet exhaust so it sounds nice too.
The problems are as follows:
1. The seller is a liar and makes me feel like i should run
2.The car was auctioned a couple times
3. The car has some rust on the undercarriage (bolts, sway etc)
4. The cars paint looks great in overcast daylight but i couldnt see it in the sun. With the exception of very very tiny metalic blue spots all over the body from one of his dumbass budies spay painting into the wind(both sides of the car) but you have to look very very closely to notice but its on most of the car. The car is BLACK
5. The car has some ancient coilover on and this makes me wonder if it saw track duty.
6. Car check rates this 01 a 75 with no accidents listed.
7. Has only 75k miles(not bad)
The seller switched on me after the test drive and said he was not titled as the owner and that to save him the tax, i would buy it from his budie's dealer.
This guy stinks! But what about the car? I know you guys know your stuff so I turn to you for guidance.
Should I worry about the things listed?
It was nice to drive but Im feeling very hesitant.
Anyone in Miami willing to sell me their black c5Z for this price?
What should i do?

IMHO, this whole thing stinks to high heaven. "Seller" is clearly a scumbag. Forget this car, keep looking!

Go with your gut. There are lots of cars out there. If your not getting the straight scoop from the 'owner', there's your first clue. RUN!

I feel like there are no Zs out there at this price and have seen worse ones listed for more. Any takers to sell at this price in South Florida(black only please)?

If it looks like a duck, and walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck,
its a duck!!
follow your gut
its not a 63 split window numbers car its a C5Z. (nice car)
But there are plenty out there
when the story starts to get that complicated and its lookin like a track car, the potential to drain your wallet goes up
it could be wrecked and just not reported to carfax or a race car with a face-lift??
I would pass

Should you allow your emotions to overrule the good advice given here, at least read this carefully:

If the guy is not being totally honest with you on some things, what else is he keeping from you? Sometimes your gut feeling will help prevent a lot of heartache down the road. As others have mentioned, there are a lot of C5s for sale and many do not have any problems at all. Perhaps you might have to travel a bit or pay a bit more to find a car that is just right, but in the long run it will pay off in a more enjoyable Corvette ownership experience. I'd say walk away from this one and resume your search.

Corvettes are not cars you need but want. When you find the right one, you will know it. There will be no second guessing (which is what you're doing).
Keep looking and be patient. You will look at plenty of nice Vettes and you'll even say this is a nice car. One day you'll find one that just stands head and shoulders above the rest. It will look great, drive great, and "feel" great. If you have any hesitation, the car isn't the right one. Buying one just to own one will leave you disappointed. It will be just a car. Buy the right Vette and it will be an experience.

Too good to be true
Be wary of the deal that sounds too good to be true .If the price is that good why has it not been sold yet ????????????/ Keep looking

I traveled 350 miles one way to look at a car and found the seller lied about several things. It made me wonder how many other things he didn't say. It pissed me off enough that I wouldn't have bought it at half the price.
Run.
