Default Best Mod(s) for Under $500

I am on a budget and I have a mostly stock Vette. I have about $500 to put into my 2002 Electron Blue Coupe. What would you do in my shoes? Cosmetic Changes? Performance? Interior? I'd love to hear your ideas guys!

Hard to come up with mods for under 500. If it were me I would save for headers, x- pipe and exhaust. While saving I would paint fuel rail covers, change the fluids and polish.

They are about 900 brand new. Decent deal. See if you can get them down on the price. I run Borla Stinger dual tips and LOVE them!

For $500 you can get C6Z06 shocks and sway bars, huge handling improvement.

500$ is easily spent on these cars.
Save it and invest in a full exhaust system.

Unless he's running 305 or larger tires the C6 Z06 sway bars will not work. A stock C5 with stock sized tires MUST go with the C6 Z51 bars.

That said, I'd suggest beefing up the suspension before adding horsepower. C6 Z51 sway bars and metal end links is a good start. The plans for the car will determine the type of shocks to go with. If drag racing is planned, Bilstein shocks are the way to go. The C6 Z06 shocks will work well for road racing or regular driving.

Disagree. A C6Z06 bar will work fine and will only be an issue if #1 Turn off Active Handling #2 Drive the car like a under steering FWD vehicle

Vararam, DMH electric cutouts, or save a little more for headers

I'd agree with getting a good used catback system - I'd recommend a Corsa one if you can find one for that price. Another good buy would be a Blackwing - can be had for about half of your budget then you could also do something else.

As a standard my first mods are suspension, tint, intake, and exhaust. Can never go wrong with that, although that will be about double your budget, if you go used.

The vendors here who sell them would disagree with you. In fact, they specifically point out that C6 Z06 sway bars should NOT be used unless the car has the appropriate tire width.
