I'm flattered by all the positive I truly am but for the time being I don't have anything to sell. I have a lot of respect for the vendors on the forum I know what they pay to post their products and I in no way wish to step on anyone's toes so to speak. Its something I'm considering doing in the fall but its getting to the point where I get chased away for anything I post. Why would I pay 4-500 hundreds dollars a month to forum where I don't feel welcome?

can't we all just get along?

Seriously though I think what draws attention to at least this post (I don't know about your other posts) is your wording. saying that this hood is a prototype IMPLIES that it is the first concept in a line that you intend to sell (therefore it must mean that you are a nonsupporting vender) however I think in your case at least for this post you are just saying hey look what I made what do you guys think! The other issue is when we all made comments about losing the side vents you said the next one you make will probably not have them. Again implying that you are testing the waters to get ready to sell them when in reality from what I have seen in this thread is you have the skills and the know how to make an item like this since it is similar to your actual line of work so you enjoy making things. Again I think it is in the wording. It obviously doesn't help when all the people chime in (myself included) saying that we would buy one or would be interested in buying one when what we are actually saying is that it looks like your quality of work is very good and IF it was a product that we would be interested because we like your design and craftsmanship

And with the waters tested, I can name at LEAST 2 paid Forum supporting vendors that would probably like to manufacture the item. This is the kind of project where its actually a bit difficult to make a lot of parts and deal with the logistics of manufacting, finances and selling, etc...It would be a perfect thing for a talented designer with a good looking finished part to team up with an experienced FORUM SUPPORTING fabricator/vendor... Just planing a seed here....

Let me clarify my position. This member is a professional fiberglass manufacturer who has claimed to make production after market parts fo r motorcycles and water craft. He calls this hood a prototype. The guy is very talented. He is not building a hood for his car, although he may be using his car as a test mule. As talented as he is, if he was building a hood for his car , he would just build it. But he has come here offering several prototypes using different screen names, looking for input on what "WE" would like to see. He has gathered enough info from people to consider using this forum to circumvent the vendor protocol. and when he finds enough interest in a hood design he would go ahead and contact members and make sales. This is not a bout a guy making a hood for his own car. He has the talent and ability to do that now... He wants to build a hood that people would buy and also a front and rear fascia. This is not my first rodeo over the last twelve years here, where people find this forum a captive audience to sell their wares, and use this forum and its members without giving back to the forum who uses the vendor protocol to pay the bills. Paying vendors keep this forum going by contributing financially to its cost. People come here all the time to try to sell their good without contributing to this policy. Non of the vendors really want to pay to be a vendor but they do because in return for their money, they get a forum with over 2 million members ( a captive audience ). Many paying vendors ask for input on a new design from the membership. This guy does have te right to show off a hood design he made for his own car, but does not have the right to gather input with sales in mind and a potential client base without first being a Vendor. You would have to be slightly challenged not to see what is going on here. I have absolutely nothing against Fabio ( the guy in question ) I just want him to man up to what he is doing. I've been very protective of this forum since I left GM 12 years ago, and this forum has only grown with vendors and tuners.. back in the early days of this forum we only had a couple dozen vendors, now we have over three hundred vendors supporting, this forum and its servers and bandwidth and technical support. Its not cheap to run a network like this, and we need participating Vendors to pay the bills. Its not fair to them to have someone come and build a product and make sales without being part of this system. Many people take for granted that this forum is free for us. If it wasn't for the vendors, this forum would never be like this, it cost thousands of dollars a month to keep this place healthy and working properly and free to its members.

And I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for you pesky kids and that dog. Get real!!!! I love the fact that I have to defend myself to a nobody but just for giggles I will post pics of my shop and everything in it. I don't make panels for anything! !!!!!!!! I do fiberglass repair. The hood was an extra project and I will continue to modify/improve my vette I will continue to post pics of my car. Get used to it. On a side note try to enjoy your retirement. Go fishing or get a puppy or something .

So you don't build products for Yamaha or Seadoos? " Everyday " So I guess you are lying here when you say you are making fiberglass parts every freekin day daily for motorcycles and water craft.
I've never made any statement about being the father of the Corvette. I do however have seven proprietary patents in every C5 on the planet, and have been a design engineer on the C5 platform from 1995 through 2000 before retiring.. My credentials are what they are I make no apologies. You claim to have never built any product for motorcycles or water craft yet your own words in the above quote seem to say something different.

As talented as you are, I would never consider buying anything from you because your morals and ethics and honesty leaves much to be desired. You slam me because I am protective of this forum, I point out that you have changed your screen name several times to circumvent the vendor process. You boldly lie about not working on motorcycles and watercraft fiberglass repair. You are a professional fiberglass technician with your own shop , using this forum to seek out potential clients. And because IM on you , you fabricate lies about me to try to slander my 12 year reputation here.. It does not fair well with the spirit of this forum... Of course you will find similar members with less than credible morals and ethics who " will buy from you because they will benefit by you selling them product without having to pay the forum a vendor fee and it will be in their best interest because you can offer a cheaper price without having to kick in to support this forum.
