Default My solution to losing jacking pucks

I lost two jacking pucks because I forgot to remove them from the car after I finished working on it. I came up with a simple low cost solution - surveyors tape held on by electrical tape. So far so good. I managed to remember to remove them the last time. The orange tape definitely helped.

So now you can look like a float in a parade with all the streamers flying while you're driving down the road!

At least you will notice them like a "Remove before flight" thing on airplanes.

As long as it works, then . Another solution would have been to just get a set of the BMW jacking pucks in the first place. They snap in place and you can just leave them on the car all the time. I've had them on mine now for nearly four years and never lost one.

A&A Frame rail savers.
I have not needed jacking pucks since I installed these.

Jacking puck streamers. I like the idea. I had something similar on my bicycle grips back in the 50's.

Great idea, I went another route on my car, I bought rail savers with built in pucks and they are always there if needed.

Mr Bill:

The only thing I don't like about those ones are the fact that it covers the holes in the frame. Someone mentioned this fact to me when I was looking. They said if my car was ever put on a trailer the holes would be covered up which are good anchor points. Hopefully I never have to have my car on a trailer, but just in case I went with the A&A frame rail savers because they don't cover the anchor point holes.

There are other ways to tie down a car, I have seen the tire straps use a lot and work great, I have never had my car on a tow truck, But when the time comes I am not worried about it.

Hey, whatever works, right?

I never thought of the parade float or the remove before flight idea. Funny stuff.

At least I don't have to rubber band playing cards to my spokes to make an engine noise. My Z06 already sounds pretty good.
