Need to hear from some Higher Mileage Owners
Here is where I am at...
I purchased my 2003 in 2006 from the original owner and it had 3,400 miles on it. Got a great deal on it and it was basically new.
It has been a daily driver and is still in great shape. Has the normal minor rock nicks on the front but just minor issues that I am currently fixing... a small tear in the drivers seat and the plastic mount for the controls under the seat just broke. My plan is to recover the seats, new foam and replace that piece.
I now have 93K on the car. Having retired 18 months ago I don't drive as much as I did when I worked but still enjoy just loading up and taking a trip from Texas to the Left or Right Coast and all points in between.
I am feeling uncomfortable with taking off with the higher mileage even though nothing is indicating issues. My plan is to sell soon.. but would like to wait maybe another year... just started a business (building custom 1911 pistols).
So here is the question..
Having replaced/repaired the above minor issues simply because they bother me... what can I expect in the resale difference between a 2003 with 93K vs maybe 105K or is it anything even worth worrying about.
I ask simply because I have not done any Vette trading or swapping. I plan on selling it myself (figured that would bring top dollar vs trading it in) and finding a very low mileage C6... I have seen the pricing of 58K or so on the C7 so maybe that is an option too... but not sold on the redesigned look yet!
So any comments from those who have sold higher mileage Vettes would be appreciated

Just under 120k on mine and I don't worry at all, mechanically, about summer road trips.
Can't help with resale value as I don't think I'll sell this one untill I get my moneys worth out of it...
Custom 1911!?! PM sent...

I just bought a 97 Corvette with 125,000 miles from a guy who said it was his road trip car...............After a long test drive, driving it home and talking to his mechanic I believe him. He did maintenance a lot more often than the book says.

Some people seem to have a bit of paranoia about the 100 K mark, unwarranted of course but you might keep that in mind if you're going to sell. It's an old attitude left over from the days when a car with 100 K was well and truly used up

137k on mine, just replaced it w/ a LS6 because I had a lifter turn and take out the cam. The LS1 that was in it still ran strong at 575hp, I'm going to rebuild it and put it in my '55 Ford p/u. As long as you've taken proper care of it and regular repairs, you've got nothing to worry about for another 100k. Drive and enjoy, L8R ZFLASH

most folks that seem to be scared of high mileage have little or no mechanical ability. there are quite a few parts that should have been replaced by now such as
1. entire cooling system {rad, pump with hoses & tank}
2. o2 sensors
3. fuel filter
4. plugs and wires
5. potentially shocks
6. brakes and rotors
7. trans and rear end oil flush
8. any burned out lights, ***** or leaks
what i actually found with a lot of c5s is people change as little as possible and then want to sell the car when they get scared of it and know everything i just said needs to be done. pass the puc to the next guy.
and that's fine if you want to, just price accordingly

To be Honest, These C5's are flooding the market now. I see them at almost every used car lot in town because people are trading them in for Used C6's that people have sold waiting for there c7's. I think it will just get more prevelant as time goes by and with the C7 being available. The Mileage is only a factor when you get over 30K in my opinion...most people that buy a car that has over 30K arent looking at mileage as a deciding factor whether to buy the car or not. Unless it had like 200K i see no difference in 97K and 105K when it comes to resale

High mileage will definitely lower the resale value, however if you do the math, a new car will lose more (and quicker) than just about any Vette. Drive the dang thing, and enjoy.
It's likely there is little difference in price between 97K and 105K

Got new in 04 now have just under 160K, only issues were rear end leak and AC compressor both fixed under warranty. Been the best DD I ever had.
Still on my 3rd set of tires and front pads rear pads once, changed plugs at 100K.oil changes at 5k-8k, air filter every 20k.

my 97 had 140K+ on the clock when i added a vortech Supercharger. I drove it back and forth from college to home (a 110 mile round trip in conditions from sub-freezing to 100+ in dry and thunderstorms) with zero problems.
The car would have run for a while longer had I not run it over a curb avoiding an idiot stopped dead in the middle of a narrow 2 lane road.
