Its worth a lot more to me than I most likely could ever get out of it.

When people I know that have big bucks ask "how much wud you sell your car for", I tell them they can't really afford it, it really pi@@es them off, because in actual terms, "IT's NOT FOR SALE"!!!!

the prisoner has been released...
bought my '02 roadster in spring of '03 with Z51 option and 6spd, built H&C package+, and sold back in '08 for $28,500k with 17k miles. Just bought it back from the same guy for $26,500 4-1/2 years later and only 1,500 more miles on it So stoked!

Oldtimer
Street worth ????
Personally I have a local Chevy dealer wants to give me $20.000 for my C5, but I put Way Too much on my car to just pick up the money and put it down on a C7, or anything for that matter. I don't know about you folks, But I put so much sweat equity in my 2003 1SC coupe, I'll leave it sit in the garage on blocks if I can't drive anymore !

I have owned my 04 Z06 since it was new (March 2004)
I take extremely good care of it. (27,000 miles since new)
I have modified it to my tastes.
I honestly enjoy it MORE NOW than the day I bought it new.
Its a great STRESS relief, and hobby on weekends for me.
Its worth a lot to me.

After the last guy who came up and complimented me looked so disappointed after I told him it was 15 years old and probably worth less than his Toyota, I quit telling people the truth. It hurts their feelings.

My wife and I were discussing possibly having some work done on my barn that I just can't do by myself, and hiring it out.
She said,
You make sure you hide that Corvette when they come out here so they don't think we have a bunch of money.
A few years ago I bought my C4 and my STS in the same year. 90 vette and 99 STS.
Everyone, and I mean everyone made comments about having money. When I told them I paid less for both of them together than they paid for their xyz, they were shocked.
The thing about anything is everything has a high value to those who want one, and has no value to those who don't.
But I think realistically my car is worth 14 to 16 simply because the paint is not a 10. Maybe a 6 when you really get anul with it. But to me, I wouldn't sell it for less than 30K

Same here I just go with whatever amount they say because one guy told me that I was lying about how much my vette cost.

I have an "AGREED" upon value of my Vette for $35,000 and that is just about right for what I got into it!
Thanks,Matt

Im sorry if this has been discussed before but Im just amazed when people ask me how much I paid for my 01 C5. They are usually off by 20 grand or so but today at the gas station a guy came up to me and said "that is a nice car I bet you spent around $50,000 for it" haha thanks but no! One reason I love these cars...12 years old and still looks new and expensive
I agree though that a used C5 is a great bargain and ones that have been taken care of look just as nice as a new corvette and some people just don't realize how affordable they can be.

It "looks" as good as any new $60,000 car. I get people coming up to me almost every time I stop asking if it is the new Corvette, etc. - don't see people doing that with 99% of other new cars.

Get compliments on it and get lumped into the group of people that pay $60,000 + for cars. So, it looks really expensive to people but as for it's value. That's a totally different thread.

I'm just glad I bought when I did last August. At first I was concerned that I was going to take a beating at the beginning of this year with the announcement of the new C7. So far, I would have had to pay $1k to $3K more for the same car if I had waited. Probably due to spring Corvette fever, but I'm happy all the nay-sayers and price plung folks were wrong,.
