Default 2004 Z06 for 10k ??

I found a 2004 Z06 with under 4k miles for 10 grand. It has no sign of any damage at all. What should this car go for? It's lemans blue with the commemorative edition. I was thinking at least 25k. If it is truly selling for the 10k mark, well I guess I found my first Vette.

There is going to be a catch. Look for signs of water or electrical damage. How's the title? Frame straight? Pull up a detailed history report and have it checked out by a mechanic.

It's suppose to be a straight car no damage at all. I plan on having it checked out. But the pricing still baffles me, not sure if its say for instance a widow just trying to get rid of it and has no clue what it's worth, maybe her husband said "yea it cost me 10 grand lol"

Buy it for 10k get it all checked out then once it checks out I'll give ya 11k for it. Deal?

LOL in all seriousness have it checked really well. Could have been in a wreck and fixed on the side and not reported. Is the seller clueless that it is a corvette?

It's actually in a pretty well known classified near me. It could still be a scam, but I would never go with cash in pocket, also I would definitely have it checked out. I have a buddy who owns an auto body shop as well as his own mechanics. I was going to do a title search as well on it, see if there is anything hiding in there.

could be a vin clone. that's a fairly popular scam. get a stolen car, print up a title for it and sell the stolen car to some unsuspecting buyer. people get taken by this one every day.

the other reason it's an obvious scam of some sort is because ANY dealer would pay twice that since ultra low mile 04 z06s still close 25-26000 on manheim with z16s going around 29k when you're at that 5k mile mark

I know about the title scam. A well known Vette dealer in Ohio was/is being investigated for that, also it might just be a price typo and they left off the 1or 2 they meant to place in front of that 9. I'm still waiting for a reply.

something is up. anytime a car is listed under MMR there is a reason. few hundred under may be a part needing replaced.

under half and you're deep in scam territory

cars can be just as liquid as stock if you put them to auction

so, intel is trading for 24.01 as i type this.

if i said 1000 shares of intel at $10 each would anyone even consider that being a real possibility ?

I know this is apples to oranges, but I always give a little bit of hope to any situation. I'm really big into saltwater aquariums, mainly reef aquariums. Over the past 20 years in that hobby I have acquired 3 outstanding deals on fish. The first one I paid 3.99 for a 60 dollar fish, that was good deal. The second was paying 50 bucks for a 700.00 fish that I was told was just a mutation of a 30 dollar fish. I knew better and grabbed it up. The third and greates deal was paying 700 for the above mentioned fish that I knew was not the above mentioned fish. I was told it was sick, and I snatched it up for the 700, the fish retails for 3grand and up ans is very similar to the 700 dollar fish. Once in awhile you will find someone with out a clue or in need to move something. I'm not saying this Z06 falls into this category but I do have a slimmer of hope that it does.

I just recently got a screaming deal on a saxophone that I initially thought was too good to be true. I took a gamble on eBay and it luckily paid off. In your case, the car is worth checking out, because you never know what can happen. BUT, just be sure to go in wearing your skeptic's hat (and it sounds like you will). For the VIN thing, I think there are at least 4 different places it appears in a C5. Be sure to check all of them that you can, to make sure they match.

Is this guy telling you to put the money in an escrow? I think i was almost scammed by this guy. Is his name Terry? He's in Texas but the car is in MA? If it sounds too good to be true it is.
