SLP axle-back installed on 98 A4....did I cut??
Well; yea I kinda had too. Only had the car up on some ramps, not high enough to get the old set-up out without cutting it.
Layed under the car, measured, guesstimated, stuck a recip saw with a fine-tooth metal blade between the sway bar and the rear k-member and sliced right through it. Took a minute or two per side.
Then unbolted pipes, rolled them down and around the axle towards the rear, Joila!! Right out!! Did not even have to unbolt the sway bar!!
Yay for me!! Less work!!
Bolted everything up, cleaned up my little tool mess and fired her up. Sounds good.
Grabbed a shower to wash the filth off from crawling around under the car and went for a test drive.
A little louder around town than I had hoped; but much less drone at 65-70 MPH than I expected, so I guess I can live with the trade off. Had fun drowning out a lumpy-idle, straight pipe Harley on the way back to the house, so it was a good ride!! Hahaha...............
Love Harley's but hate that straight pipe sound from them.
Sorry for the "crappy cell-phone pics" but I did not want to grab the digital with my filthy paws..........before and after..........

Nothing like a good sounding car.
