Default Active Handling Message

I just recently had the car seviced, coolant flushed and changed and brass gears put in the headlight assembly. Now the ABS and Active Handling light stays on and goes off after I stop and restart. Seems to just do it on cold start and not after I drive it.

I took it back to the dealership and they reset the gages. But that didn't take care of the problem. Anyone know what it is? I'm thinking the sensor might be going bad. They gave me a price for parts only for the pump and module that serves this and it's over the top at $3400.

Gazillion posts on this topic. Search for the posts on this, but first thing you want to do is pull the OBD codes from the dash.

They connected the hand held computer to it and reset the gages, not sure if that's what you mean.

If the problem is still there, the ABS/Service AH light is back on and you would have CODES.

Done the auto test: No Codes

Why would the light stay on at times and no codes?

ABS and Active handling light is not on at this time. Guess I will have to go from here and see what happens. Thanks guys.

If your tire pressure when tires are cold, falls below a certain level, this may cause codes. Had this happen several times in the winter on my 2000 coupe. Once the tires were warm, went away.

Also moisture will cause an issue with the connection. Of course your abs module may be going bad. Need codes pulled for more info.

Had nitogen put in the tires, but was doing it before I done this too. I pull the codes and shows "No Codes."

Not recently, change to Michelin Sport a few years ago. This issue came up after having the car serviced and other work done.

I'll check the codes next time it comes up and reset it then. Thanks!

When I got a "Service Active Handling" message it was the streering sensor. About $350.00 took care of it at a Chevy Dealer.

The C5s ability to read codes is very cool. GM took that away on the C6
