Whew!!!!!!! Good to know I'm not out here all by myself. Life is too short to take oneself too seriously.

I am a little anxious to find out if we can get a deal done on a 427 convertible. That would be sweet.

I just purchased my 2003 A/E coupe with 22k on the clock they wanted 26 or 27 ! I told them no way ! They called me back 3 or 4 times the same day and the final was 22.5 and I still had my trade in to come off that which I did not have a payment on . My payment isnt much but I have the C5 I always wanted !! Even with the C7 coming out which is awesome I am staying with my A/E for a long time . They did low ball me on my trade but it was real close to what I paid for it and I drove it for almost 4 years so I got my moneys worth out of the car!

Trading in a car is a BAD idea, I always sell privately then go in with CASH to make the deal.

Keep it and just buy the one you want, you could work them a hell of a lot harder and then take your time and sale yours when the time is right the the right person. they will have rebates I would think on new 2013 models soon and that will help as well.

You can get $16K off sticker on a 427 convertible at Kerbeck in Atlantic City. They have 7 in stock. Check kerbeck.com. I don't know what they would offer for your trade, but starting with a big discount off MSRP can't hurt.

Default It is all about the difference

It doesnt matter what they offer you, the only thing that matters is how much do you have to add to your trade in to get the new car. If they give you 50,000 and their car is 100,000 you pay your car and 50,000...If they offer you one dollar and thry want 50,001 it is the exact same thing. think about it the difference between the trade in and the new car is the only thing you should care about. Then you have some way to deal with other dealers. smallest difference is the winner. get it?

How many miles, I paid 30 for mine in 2010 but it only had 12000 miles and it was a convertible. Best money I ever spent. its got 70000 on it now and I love getting to drive it everyday. NOTHING DRIVES LIKE A VETTE.

I would only offer you 22k (23k at best). If your vette was a convertible, the offer would increase by $1500 to $2000.

No, I am not a car dealer (I work at a hospital) but the value of ANYONE'S vehicle is only what someone else is willing to pay for it. Last but not least we want to buy our new cars at the lowest price possible but we expect the dealerships to pay the highest premium. They too need to actually make some money in order to pay their salesmen, rent, advertising, etc. not trying to be an a-hole here... Just calling it like it is.

Best of luck with the sale of your baby and the purchase of your new one. By the way... I too thought my 98 was worth waaaaaay more than it was!

Well sure, I got a lot of sweat equity in mine. But "Sweat Equity" doesn't have a price. But a Straight as an arrow 16.476 miles on a 2003 is a easy sell for $20K all day long. Just since I posted this offer, I've been contacted by 7 dealership already. They have descended on me like a pack of wolves. It's a hot topic, and everyone is an expert. But in the end it boils down to they give me a $15.000 trade and sell the 2013 427 60 Anniversary vert for 60.000, so no matter what you think, in the end I have to start with a $45.000 final price. Everybody win except me. What a joke !

No way your vette is worth 30K but trade price will be figured into your trade.

The C6 427 vert is a one year car, so it very well could be a collector's item one day.

What dealers are selling for 60k? I'll take one right now

I see Kerbeck at 69k so with 15 trade value you're at 54k plus tax and fees. Lol

I don't see any dealers coming over $20k off msrp

$15000 is the expected trade value from a stealership unless they play the shell game and put more into the new car to show more on the trade value.
