Default C5 owner with a C7 question

A friend of mine lives in San Diego and he swears he saw a grey 2014 C7 on the streets in his area last week. I told him it was probably a Camaro but he is adamant that he saw the lettering CORVETTE on the tail. Is this possible ? Was it a test car ?

Could have been one of the few pre-production vehicles on the road. There was a video on line a month ago where there were a few new C7 Corvettes cruising through the Arizona area, if memory serves. He could have seen one of those.

Quite possible. I do not believe the C7's have the script "Corvette" on the back but just the flag. However, anything is possible!

Yes, it is right below the flag. You can see this by going onto the Kerbeck (did I spell this correctly ?) website and viewing some of their pictures. That is one reason why I think he did indeed see a C7. Thanks.

I am just curious. I know they won't reach the showrooms until the third quarter of the year. Are you upset that I asked the question ?

He probably saw a test mule.

I read somewhere, I thought in a thread in the SoCal regional, someone else also saw a C7 down in the SD area.

I believe it was also cyber gray. color

I live in Michigan, about 1/2 hour from the Milford GM Proving Grounds. My neighbor 3 doors down has brought home 3 different C7's in the last week (white, black and red). The have manufacture plates on them. He is with the Corvette program and pretty high in the organization I think. Waiting for a nice Saturday to visit and view up close including the interior. Saw them at the Detroit Auto Show, but of course locked up, no sit and no view inside.

GM is currently testing the C7 and there have been reports of them being sighted in a number of locations. So he very well could have seen a pre-production example in San Diego.
