Help with LEDs on HVAC/Door/DIC controls
I have a 1999 C5 and many lights are burning out on the HVAC control, door controls, and DIC panel. Is there someone out there that replaces these bulbs with LEDs for the HVAC, door controls, and/or the DIC panel?
I think my HVAC controller might be in need to be repaired because it occasionally has a mind of its own, e.g. it won't remember my settings, etc. Can this be fixed or do I have to replace the entire unit?

the HVAC going dim is common on our cars... mine is doing it too.. there are vendors on this forum that do that HVAC repair as well as having nice LED upgrade kits... i think JW also does the repair for the environmental unit.

if it has a mind of it's own that's different. repairing the dim or dark screen is easy. i fixed my oem one last week and installed a new one for good measure.
the mind of it's own thing i am not aware of any fix for and as far as i know GM only has the late model HVAC controllers sold new

Changing the bulb is easy -- getting the switches out is more difficult. For the DIC & HUD switches you must remove the instrument cluster. VetteEssentials has a great "How to" on their site.

We replace the leds in the HVACS and can fix those dim displays. They have to be sent in to us though.

As for the window switches etc. we have direct plug n play bulbs available for those

Just out of curiosity, once switched over to LED's can you still use the dimmer to adjust the light output? I was under the impression that LED's were not able to vary light output, digital as opposed to analog if you will.
