Great question and great topic. I love reading other vette enthusiasts opinions on threads like this. Based on what I've read here and other threads with the same general topic I am under the opinion that an great number of corvette owners
1. own or really like performance caddys and german machines.
2. The autocross guys respect japanese engineering a lot and
3. the muscle heads continue to have respect for the high end pony cars.
With these kinds of answers I don't understand why there are still a lot of neanderthals that continue to bash anything that isn't a vette. We still see "ricer" and "rustang" a lot but I don't think that is the general concensus. True gearhead car people are just that, car people. Some of us can find beauty in an Edsel or Vega or even a Yugo...well maybe not a Yugo but maybe a Triumph Dolemite.

lets see.. I had my 98 C5 from mid 99 till Aug 2001..
I did have an 03 Cobra, mild mods about 450 to the wheels and it was as fun or more than the C5..
I had an S2000 (that I traded in on the 03 Cobra) again, a VERY fun car to drive. No where near as fast as the C5 (or Cobra for that matter) but the handling on it was incredible..
my driver now.. I guess you can say I went the complete opposite.

I would drive another E46 M3. I loved my last one. Only got something else, because I found the corvette I liked before I found another one in the right color combo.
This was my last one.

I find it interesting that on a Corvette forum, that's theres about 10 people that would rather replace their C5s with a Mustang, and not even 1 who'd rather have a CamaroSS. That's knowing the Camaro is faster, and the newest ones have AHMRC that's tops in handling...

since my C5 is a weekend fun toy, I have to elimate a new camero or caddy ctv I am considering either of those as DD's. If performance was my choice either a 911 or mercedesSL for fun cruising a 1959 Impala Convertible, 1963-65 Buick Riveara or my ultimate combining both a late 60's Astin Martin 3000
