Thanks ED but I'm not looking for any sympathy or to continue the drama in "open forum" that surrounds me. I've received plenty of support via Private message and text. I do understand your sincerity, and I thank you.

My hood is stock yes and the others as well.

Edit: It lifted on a stock bumper and an aftermarket bumper.

Something tells me maybe the hood isn't the issue but the way it is latched. I think the hood could have used 4 latches (or 3 with one in the middle) instead of 2.

The stock hoods lift too...... Below is a pic of a stock hook lifting at 170mph (it's not as bad as that aftermarket hood)

In before Evil Twin claims that is a photoshop and impossible, because it hasn't been replicated in a wind tunnel.

WOW! Just last night I went into the console to put something in there, and I noticed for the first time, the double hinge you mentioned. My first reaction was WTF, so me only being a lowly (retired) software engineer, I don't quite "get it".

I'd love to hear the reason for it.
Kudos from me for being apart of such a cool ride! And, sorry for being off topic, but seeing this thread is already a train wreck, it's worth it to me to learn something about my new car...

So many mentally challenged here like this guy. Ive already said the hood flexed at max speed, but still is DOT compliant. My bone of contention was that at max seed the OEM hood lifts 1 foot as claimed..... that's it that's the issue... you children that bend the truth to fit your agenda only go to show just how stupid you really are.
There is another vid in this thread with two corvettes side by side, different years but the OEM design and testing is the same. Tthere is so much difference in these two cars that are doing the same speed, one hood is lifting and the other is not, guess which one is the OEM hood and which is the aftermarket hood.

I don't make claims, I state facts.... God, it seems everyday this forum gets deeper in BS and clueless children. Be nice if someone would bring an argument that had some credibility. Its a shame that anyone working at MacDonald's can buy a C5, this forum has gone right in the toilet over the years. Is there anyone left on this forum that's over 20?

Actually, the claim was that the OP's hood lifted a foot. The OP NEVER claimed it was an OEM hood. He initially would not say which hood he had because it's from a supported vendor. You called him a troll, claimed this was impossible, etc..... Now your spouting all the wind-tunnel, OEM hood stuff, but that was not part of any original claim. You should really go back to the first few pages and re-read your comments.

It's a shame that someone with your intelligence is lacking in the humility department.

Plus, it looks sooooo good on Bill's car!!

Thanks for the compliment! I can say I've had this hood at higher speeds than where the OP's hood lifted many times and never seen any evidence of my ACP lifting. I cannot say for sure that it will never lift an inch at 200mph, but I'm pretty confident in the quality of the construction and that the air extractors are doing their job.

Reading through this now makes me nervous about buying a used CC carbon hood. I generally don't race my car too much however I still do like to get on it every once in a while and I do not want the hood to lift.

Just wanted to add that Ive made 180 and 190mph runs at Lake El Mirage and other events with the stock hood and it did not lift. I have simply removed the cowl seal near the windshield.

hood lift due to pressure build up under them. Removing the cowl seal provides a relief for the pressure buildup.

my stock hood lifts as well... not a dangerous amount but enough to wonder wtf is trying to crawl out of the engine compartment.

Where did the original poster ever claim this was an OEM hood? He said it was a hood manufacturer whose name he did not want to share. That was pretty clear.
What is up with Evil Wind Tunnel guy acting like such a jerk? I appreciate he tested the OEM hood but that isnt what this thread is even about.

Just a thought, For you guys thinking about using the foam injected into the support structure, maybe take it to a fiberglass boat repair shop or boat builder and get them to fill it with the 2-part foam they use for flotation and hull integrity? Its much more rigid than the spray can stuff.

This is interesting....

Looks like a 2004 Z16 Carbon Fiber hood.

I guess he was running at the Texas Mile.
No idea how fast he was going but it sure made his hood pucker up !
Given that its a Twin Turbo I suspect 170+++ ?
