Default How did you mount your sub?

I have a 12" JL Sub and an amp and want to install it myself. How did you guys do yours and make it look professional and neat? I'm not sure if the center cargo will have enough room for a 12" but thats what i have and i really dont want a big box in the back...any ideas? any pics? thanks

your going to want one of these
http://shop.doubledmods.com/C5-Corve...?categoryId=-1

as long as you have a W1 or W3 it will fit. Anything greater than your going to have to make the bog huge custom box you don't want

I mounted mine in the storage area of my trunk (convertible). I didn't want to lose any space and I wanted it to be stealth.

I've done like the above with 2-10's or a single 12". For a friend I made a corner mount box for a 12w3 that fit into the driver side cubby hole and faced towards the driver/center hatch. I'll never do that again as it was alot of fiberglass and trial fitting work. I really like my similar mounted 10w6 setup in my Vette. Plenty of options to choose from, and the selection above looks plentiful.

It doesn't interfere with the passengers seat position ? What size amp did you go with ?

I built a fiberglass enclosure to fit the center cargo housing a JL12W6v2. Used MDF for the top and covered with black vinyl. I mounted the JL 500.1 under the passenger seat. Looks factory.

My Jl 12w6 fit, but needed a 3/4" spacer for the extra depth. Turned out really nice with an extra layer of carpet:

I have a kove audio 10 mounted in the center cargo hole with an alpine amp think its 1000 watts. It sounds awesome but it doesnt have the volume in the box to really dig deep. There sould be enough room for a 12 but id skip the box and justsecure the board the sun is mounted to to the floor, so you can use the whole cargo compartment as the box.

My amp is behind my seat, other than a few inches loss on legroom Which doesn't bother me, it's perfect! Just keep an eye on heat buildup... My power bass 600.4 doesn't get too hot but a couple of my fosgate amps do get warmish

I had my amp behind my seat but moved it to the rear. I didnt like how the seat was so close to it and the loss of seat position and leg room.

If any one rides with you I would put it in the back. I had mine behind the seat for a few days and it drove me crazy. I was always checking my seat and amp to see how hot it was getting.
