Default Snow driving...

If you drive in the snow lets see some pics and what tires you run for bad weather driving. I run 295/35/18 Pirelli Winter Sottozero, they grip great in rain and snow...it is funny to me how some people bash on what mods and driving styles people have...but I can take it....I know there will be some.

Don't know if this counts but I was caught in a snow storm while on temperary duty to Witchita Falls. These were the original run crap tires and no fun in the snow.

I've driven a few times in the snow with my C5s and I've always had the OEM Goodyears on there. Since I went with non-runflats, I haven't had the car out in snowy weather. The Goodyears worked OK, but I was very careful and gave myself plenty of room for stopping.

I was forced to drive my vette in the snow for about a week a couple winters ago because my winter car died. I have bfg kdw2's, and it took like 20 minutes to get out of my completely flat driveway that is like 30 ft long every morning.

My 'Vettes have always been my DD's (it's just a car people!! Granted, the most fun car built in America to drive.) So, all of mine see regular inclement weather action. We are predicted to get 8" to 14" of snow tomorrow (NE Colorado). I only have crappy cameras, but I will try to get you some pics. Due to their weight distribution, 'Vettes are surprisingly capable vehicles in the snow. Just can't drive like an ***-hat!!!!

Have to admit though that the reason I don't already have lots of snow pictures is that it is warm in the car and not so much outside of it!!!!! Don't usually stop and get out to take pics!!!

I drove my C5 up to Detroit last weekend for my Grandmother's funeral (1,200 mile round trip). Wasn't really expecting the 3" of snow up there:

And really wasn't expecting the snow in Kentucky on the way home:

Almost looks like the Vararam inlets were frozen over. Fortunately the snow didn't really stick on the asphault and I made it home to Alabama just fine. I even had the windows rolled down that same day when I got near the house. Crazy weather in March.

I've been caught in the snow twice getting off work late at night. I was on hankook ventus tires and the rears were almost bald. I would never try driving this thing in the snow again. It was like driving on a sheet of ice. Traction control saved me on a few occasions.

This is as close to being in snow my car has seen, I have never driven it in snow nor would I. I have a CTS and that sucks in snow, but my wife has a Buick Lucerne front wheel drive and it's great.

Never drive my 04 in the snow. Stays in the garage covered and on battery tender. Got a GMC quad cab slt 4x4 for driving in the white stuff. However the roads where dry today so I got it out for about an hour run time. Almost like driving it for the first time again. Boy do I miss not driving it for the winter months.

I'd never drive the vette in the snow, but only because of the salt n stuff.. The LS1 Camaro gets that duty. It's quite fun isn't it!!

Wow, you got a picture of Chuck Norris! No one else is badass enough to be riding that sportbike in the pic.

That would be Phoenix AZ - where the sun bakes your leather alive while your at work and waxing must happen every Sunday with a light polish two times between each waxing.......

Shades, covers, anything short of a air conditioned garage can't much save the internals of your dash from being baked

My '01 coupe is my DD and living in Wichita Kansas I can't avoid some exposure to snow. I'm running Nitto 555's which are NOT all weather tires but as with any car, slow and easy and most importantly, maintaining distance between yourself and the car in front will get you to work every time... almost. We had a record snowfall this year that cost me three days of work. Stability isn't the issue here. Corvettes sit too low for deep snow. I wasn't happy about burning vacation days that way but I don't regret me decision to own a vette in any weather.
