My dad's '62. Does it count if it's not a C5?

Yeah I kind of figured powder coating would be the only really good looking way to do it. I never really liked the polished look on silver, but it sure looks good for some of the cars on this thread, so I mind as well try it at least. That or just save up a bit more and get myself a set new already powder coated.
Thanks for the info

Great car. Unfortunately, he would not even place in most of the local shows I attend as he would get points deducted for the wheels. Purists tend to rule around here...

That's why I like mixed shows and cruise nights. A lot more creativity and CCW wheels!

I have no issues with the purists , but if the car was a non matching numbers car then all power to ya ! Make it what you want. Drop in a LS motor, big brakes, coil over suspension etc... Keep the outside original looking but match the performance of a new car. Its exactly what I would do.

He'd get points off for the tube frame, LS2, 6-Speed, coil overs, and Z06 brakes.

SP16s that I borrowed from a friend for a track day last year. She wouldn't sell them to me.

I'd love a set of Classics... someday.

It wasn't a numbers matching car. He bought it in shambles in '85. Put it back to stock. Drove it for 20 years, and it was time to be restored again. He just needed a little "help" in the direction of restoration this time. It's WAY more fun than it ever could be as a stocker. Not to mention, he's thrilled with it, and comes home with a trophy at almost every show.
