Hud install?
I will be installing a hud in a C5, is the plastic bezel necessary if I can cut a clean hole out of the dash. Or is it needed for clearance?

Just last week I installed my HUD and you will be a lot better off using the bezel to clean things up, No matter how nice of a cut you do it is still ugly as hell.... Make sure you have everything, The projector, the dash switch, The 11 pin connector and the bezel, If you have any questions just pm me.

Have all the parts just waiting for a good spring day to do it.
I just questioned the benzel I have laser that I thought I could make a nice clean cut with.
But was not sure if it needs the benzel add some clearence or even a little shade around the hud.

I would encourage you to get a bezel also - it will really make the area look finished.

Installed my HUD a few months ago. You'll need the bezel to have a nice clean finished look. You'll have a rough edge if you don't use it.
good luck

Why are you so set on not using the bezel?
You do it without a bezel and be sure to post pictures.

Wrap The Dash Pad
Only option that I could see would be to take the stock dash pad and once the HUD cutout is made, would then be to wrap the whole pad.Otherwise your looking at plastic base with foam and then top vinyl shell edge showing. I'm sure one of the vendors would offer something like that maybe Double D mods. You could try yourself but some curves in dash pad to deal with.Wont be cheap. Seems like alot of work and expense but to each thier own.

Your right I thought about wraping it as well. I'm just going to try it and see how it goes, and hey if it dosen't work, I have the Benzel only thing wasted is my time. But than again any time spent with my vet is time well spent.

So can you just remove your dash pad? If you were only replacing your HUD bezel, is that all you'd have to remove? Are there instructions for just that part?
