Bye bye C4, hello C5
Watched the new owner of my C4 drive away tonight with a smile on his face. It was a black 94 6speed, with 83k on the clock.
That said, I'm driving 2 hours on Thursday to pick up my C5. Same color combo, 6speed as well. It's a '98 model, 2nd owner with 60,301 miles.
My question is, what can I look for upon the initial encounter with the car? Any known his sues to be on the lookout for?
Thanks in advance!

Good luck in your search. I have a bunch of Word files that talk about the C5, including a Corvette Buyers Checklist. If you'd like a copy, PM me you e-mail address.

Much better car you'll love it. I have both c4-c5. The c5 is way more comfortable easier to get in an out of. Handles way better, brakes better, power better, easier to work on. Enjoy

gawd. handling. c4 was a death trap at speed. c5 is stable and provides SO much better feedback at the limit
only thing i'll add is jack the car up, shake all wheels to inspect bearings and look for any leaks

Congratulations! I did something similar only about 9 months inbetween until I happened across the C5 that was screaming "I'M YOUR CAR!" at me.
I'd disagree with the comment that C4's handled like turds. My '84 Z51 took corners like it was on rails. You wouldn't believe it if I showed you the road I took at about 80 or 85... Here in the NE the weather's sucked for months so I've only driven the C5 home and into the garage. I only hope it's handling is comparable. I'm already to put C6 Z51 sways on it if not.
I think the C5 is much more of a "refined" experience than the C4 (at least mine) but the only thing that matters is that it puts a smile on your face.
