Ok I gotta say I am GLAD that this guy had the argument with you Toque! I am new to my 2000 Vette and with it being a coupe I was worried about the rigidity of the frame as I plan on autocrossing my car. Unfortunately I didn't have the money to get a Z06 and had to go for a base model (but I don't care cause it is STILL a Vette and a beautiful one at that ) and there were no FRCs being sold anywhere near me. Bottom line I was still going to autox my Vette but in the back of my mind I was a little worried about frame strength compared to a solid roof car. so again THANK YOU USMC88! Thank you VERY MUCH! now after reading this thread I now KNOW that if the Corvette was designed to in the future be a convertible then my targa top has NO problems
