Are the shifter boots and parking brake boots available separately without the shift ****? Does the shifter boot come with the plastic ring to secure it to the center column surround plastic?

Yes, we can sell you the boot by itself. It comes with a retainer, but we recommend you reuse your current one for a more oem fit.

Does this **** just screw on?

Is there anything to stop it from wanting to spin around. I have a hurst shift **** currently and it has a backing washer that screws up to it and tightens it so that the **** does not turn maybe I can use this same thing and just screw this **** down to it?

Its not needed, this part will tighten up without and and will stay tight.

So what holds this **** tight on the shift rod? The stock C5 **** has a "key" that locks the **** in place so it doesn't rotate. Does this **** have the same style of lock? Can you please elaborate on how it "tightens up". Maybe with some pictures?
Thanks.

Its threaded. There aren't any aftermarket ***** that use that key anyway. Once its tightened, its not going anywhere.

I guess my question has to do with orientation. I understand that once you apply torque to the **** and tighten it on the threads that it won't turn anymore, but what if the **** tightens and ends up being 180 degrees from where it should be rotated? So this means you have to back it off by a half turn and it's no longer "tight". I've never had an aftermarket **** so I'm not aware of what your competitors use. Do you recommend using blue loc-tite or teflon tape around the thread so that it locks it on?

You could, but its really not necessary. I use this **** and its tight

Any chance you'll be making these in colors that match the 50th anniversary interior?
