Default Buying another Vette

I have been away for awhile; I had my '81 for 15 years but stupidly sold it two years ago. I can't stand not having one anymore and need to buy another Corvette. I am looking at a 99 Convertible with 70k miles on it. Wish me luck. I have searched the tech forum and read the stickies so feel that I know what to look for.

One of my eight vettes was an '81 and it was the worst performing car of all of them. You'll like the C5 much more but may want to try and find one a few years newer

Good luck in your search. Lots of nice examples out there, just be patient and look the cars over carefully. The C5 is an awesome car for the money.

Good luck in your Vette search. The difference between an 81 and a 99 is night and day, with the 99 being light years ahead of the 81 in all performance aspects.

Oh yeah, the 81 wasn't nearly as exciting as the 440 Roadrunner I sold to pay for college. Of course that car could only go fast in a straight line, forget about turning or stopping.

I'm kinda like you Big Ed. I would love to still have my '75 to go with my C5. I miss it, even though it was just stock but had the classic c3 lines and interior.

You're gonna love the C5 if that's what you get. That's what I have now. Torch red '01 vert. Gorgeous with the top down. Waterfall is so cool.
