I still have 44 (or is it 45?) payments to go, but we think we can pay it off sooner. Retirement (since 2007) is great; we have the freedom to pick up and go when we want (board our dog for a few days and have our son watch the house).

Speaking of road trips, we're planning a Route 66 trip next year, winding up in SoCal where my sister lives. There's an article in the current edition of Blue Bars by some folks who did that trip from Chicago.

Congrats! You will notice an immediate 5 HP increase as a result of paying off your Corvette!

Not sure whether I will ever retire. I just want to do something that I enjoy, when I want to do it and make a living at it. I don't want a boss and I don't want to be a boss. Once you stop, you drop!

Mr. Bill - Congratulations!
My wife & I both retired on the same day last April - she immediately started her new "honey-do" list and I immediately started working on it! But the good thing is, we have time and freedom to do a lot more Corvette & Classic Chevy events...and mid-week trips to Reno...and sleeping in...

Welcome to "The Club". Once in a while I go back pick up a little work and remember why I retired in the first place.I guess I should drive the vette a little more than I do.Congrats Mr. Bill.
