seat belt question?
OK so I would like to replace my seat belts. Question is are they specific to Corvette's? Seems to be a part that would be very interchangable between GM vehicles of equivalent vintage. I really don't want to pay the "corvette tax" from a corvette salvage place, etc for a part I can pull off of a 98 Boneville lets say at the local pick a part. Any ideas???
Thanks,
Tyler

You can always check with your local dealership and see if they can tell you if the part is unique to the Vette or if it has multiple uses over several platforms. Once you have that info, you can go from there as to where to get the seatbelt.

Often GM parts that are dimensionally identical and interchangeable between models will have different part numbers. I doubt that a dealer would help you sort that out. For example I found that C4 front hubs (non-abs) were interchangeable with Cadillac Eldorado and Olds Toronado rear hubs. The finish was slightly different and they all had different part numbers. The Caddy and Olds parts were significantly cheaper.
