Awesome, now youre looking like 956,000 other "murdered out" boy racer cars...
...said the guy with a glossy car and chrome wheels. Yeah, not many of those around.

I think it looks pretty damn good! Tell me more about this plasti dip. I have an 03 Kawi project bike this might be perfect for!

I like it though, if the paint on mine gets to the point you're talking about, this will likely be a route I consider. For the same reasons. Track "blasting" does not a good paint job make!

Those chrome wheels are HRE's... and they run about $6000. for the set, so yea, youre correct... not many of those around. and remember, youre on a public forum and posting up things that you knew, judging from the title, that might get you some replies you might not agree with, so dont get all butt hurt when someone doesnt like what youve done..... now go change your name to BoyRacer956k

Seems like a practical solution to track sand blasting. I thought about just doing my front bumper, but I still dd mine. Been tracking mine for over 5 years. I gave up on the paint 2 years ago. Mirrors are almost white, rocker panels are white, fender edges are white, windshield pitted, hood pitted, not to mention - red duct tape to cover my trophy from RD ATL:

I bought this car to track, which is why I got an '02 Z instead of newer C6. I hate it for 81c3 that he has never truly got to feel what this car is capable of, but that is the beauty of the C5Z, you can wax them up and garage queen them and they are awesome trophy cars or - you can take them to the track and brutalize them and they will take it. Gotta love 'em.

i am tracking my mint sw z06 this year- i have 6-8 cans of clear glossy plasti-dip for the front bumper and rockers/ behind wheel wells and the mirrors. then flat black for the wheels. i figure if it saves the paint before i mess it up, it is worth the $$. no r comps here though still a newbie

op the car looks fine and how you drive it is what really matters- not how much your hre wheels cost

I appreciate all the comments. I beat mine like a $2 rented mule. They're tough cars. I'll update with a few pics on the CCW Classics next week. I had to put the street tires on as I've been driving it in the rain lately. That's another upside, just hit it with the hose to clean. I'll buy more plastidip with my wax savings. Older picture from Road Atlanta. Would love to see pics of other track toys.

Awesome analogy

Doesn't look too bad, serves it's purpose..Track tires are $$$$. Some would rather wax, others would rather race. Could change the name of the post to: waxers vs. racers

Comments like these are what give other motorheads the impression that vette owners really do have mullets and lots of gold chains... Car looks great, go wear it out!

This is Plasti-dip? I was thinking it was that Flexi-cote paint used to repaint faded bumper trim.

Looks good to me!! Now paint your wheels to match. Hahahaha

They are tough beasts. Here is mine. Stroked LS2 403ci., just need the black CCWs and some time. Yes, that's a Lightning. NO, it's slower than the Z. For now anyway, it's awaiting a monster Whipple and some other stuff.
