Default Cracked rear fender

I have 345s on the back of the car with stock fenders, so the tires stick out a little bit. I hit a bump in the road fairly hard and it caused my driver side fender to crack. I imagine its because the tire hit the fender? So the only way to fix this is to buy fender flares correct?

On a side note, does anyone know if its worth calling the city and complaining about their roads?

Thanks,
Brett

yeah, it's the road, not the mod that caused the problem.

From 275 to 345 ? Yeah, I'd say you'd be sticking out a enough to crack a fender and no, I don't think the city will bail you out.

Not going to stock tires with over 600 HP. So what happens when i hit a bump again with the flares? Does the tire bottom out on the linerwith no issues?

You can call the city and complain about the potholes, etc. but if you have any hope of getting them to pay for the cracked fender, I'd say you are spitting in the wind. Tires that stick out beyond the stock fenders are a disaster waiting to happen, as you found out.

Do you absolutely need tires that wide even with 600 HP? Not sure what others with that type of power are running, but maybe some of them will chime in and say what width tires they have on their car.

I don't have a problem getting the flares, I've thought about getting l5s before. I'm just wondering what happenswhen I'm in the same scenario again, or what would happen if i had regular tires and hit a bump in the road that bad? could that normally damage a car? Picture hitting a speed bump at 40, but on only one side of the car.
