C5ZO6 or C7? Keep, improve or trade?
In recent months , I have added OnStar, XM radio, new seat covers and now a repaint. Almost like having a new car AND paid for. My appreciation for owning one of these beasts is through the roof right now. I guess my question is how many of you C5Z owners are considering in the coming months to improve what you already have as opposed to making the trade? Personally, the C7 is a sweet looking ride. But for me unless Im financially blesed to get one sooner, that C7 is at least three years off.

Right now I'm contemplating some new seats and specific track upgrades for my otherwise stock-ish C5Z. But yeah, I'm also considering the C7 as a possibility starting next year.
I don't know how I feel about trading in my C5Z. To be honest I think I would have seller's remorse. It's a special car, at least to me.
Decisions, decisions.

LOL, yeah we can't let the C6 forums have all the fun with this
topic. Although this all comes down to personal opinion for the
most part, here is mine.
My C5Z is fairly modded with FI and forged motor. I thought about
a C6Z, and after a reasonable amount of seat time in them, I decided
that I prefer my C5. Now the C7 has been unveiled and unless it looks
much better in person, I have no interest in going that route.
Then there is the C6 ZR1. I think the ZR1 is head and shoulders above
the other models be they C5 or C6. Great ride, looks, and stump pulling
power at almost any rpm. I would trade my car for the ZR1 in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, the large stack of bills that would have to be
inside my car to make that trade is just more than I feel comfortable
with. I will pick up a nice ZR1 in 2-3 years when a well kept, low mile
example can be had in the $50k range. I can live with that.
Again just IMHO,

I"ll be in my C5Z for many years to come. Just dropped some good coin on a heads/cam package from Tony Mamo and I also ordered all new exterior lights from RadioFlyer and JW. She's gonna pull like a freight train now, hoping for about 100-110 more hp at the crank than the C7 (all NA), and she's going to look great at night with the new lights! I've previously done a new shifter, new exhaust, new Corbeau seats, new leather interior, etc., so she's my dream car!!!

C5 Z for me. Since my Z is mostly a track car I'm definitely sticking with what I've got. I'd much rather have a C6 Z but I can't afford to track anything more than what I've got now.

My 02Z has a pretty fresh cammed ls3 in it making about 100hp more than the base C7, and its track ready. I do track it regularly, and drive it on the street with just a tire/brake pad change. When I do get a C7(3-4 yrs from now) it'll be for the exterior and interior looks and technology. I paid cash for my 02Z in 03, and I'll pay cash for a C7, I hate payments so I'll keep saving.

I KNOW I would regret selling my car in the future.... so I'm keeping it.
I have 20K worth of mods in it and its exactly how I like it.
Its paid off too.
I don't care how good the C7 looks or performs. I ain't selling my C5Z.

At least $30-32k into my C5Z. Close to perfectly how I want it. Until I can get a similarly low-mile C6Z for the same price, I'll stay with my C5Z. C7? Not any time soon. Have to get over it's butt ugliness first. Then it has to come waaaay down in price.

I was thinking of adding a C5Z for some light track duty but not now. I am keeping my Vert because I have close to 20k in mods but I am definitely saving for a C7Z06. I was never very fond of the C6 so I think I am skipping that generation.

I'm in the same boat but I will be a naysayer and say that the C7 body style doesn't excite me at all. The front half is pretty good but the rear half destroys it. The C5Z is just an awesome looking car and will always turn heads.

I wish it was RED I love my ZO6 but looking at some Higher performance like the my Dads best friends 2012 ZR1 (and it is RED)
"I will have that car someday" But until then I want to drive my car all the time. No snow, a little rain, maybe (if I have to "slow")
For the record three years (My car and 40 grand+ ZR1) PS My Dad says Kent (RED ZR1 owner) will never sell his car! So I'm in no hurry I loved my 1969 4 speed 350 with T-Tops "I LOVE ALL CORVETTE"

It'll definitely be a C6 Z06 for me. Looking forward to the lower selling prices on the C6 Z06's once the C7 version's released. And believe me, the asking prices WILL drop....... Keeping my C5 Z06 as well. I'll always be a generation behind. I prefer it that way. Let somebody else pay that big premium to drive a 'new' car.......bottom line......every car on the road is a 'used car', no matter how 'new' it is!
