Probably been hashed out a ton on here but here goes. 02 Red on Red Coupe. Automatic Z51 . LS1 engine . Put a Corsa Indy exhaust and a Blackwing on it and want more of course I love this car ! Shop guy says a set of long tube headers and a cam with a tune will help this engine. Will it be enough ?
Or for about double the money a Procharger set up will really get you what you want I don't know what to do, anybody got some take on my dilema ? Thanks
Thanks guys. After watching the vid link Johnz02z06 put up I'm in . Deep down thats what I thought , just needed a little prodding to make up my mind ! Time to lighten the bank account .
Without a doubt, a blower is the way to go. But, you have to ask yourself an important question.... roots style or centrifugal? Roots is positive displacement based and gives more instantaneous power in the lower RPM range. Centrifugal is dynamic based and gives more power in the higher rpm range. Just to give you an example, I've got a Vortech VS2 unit which is Centrifugal. At low RPMs, the car feels like stock. But once I get over 3000 RPMs, it quickly becomes a bat outta he!! and is a major blast to drive!
This is a chunk of change to spend so definitely first decide which way you want to go.
blower is the best bang for the money. Headers are nice, but for the price, you only get about 15-35 more ponies. Double the price, and get 10X more power? Sounds like a duh decision.
A note: you may find yourself getting Boost-Happy (wanting to drop the the pulley size) at which point you may need to consider the following upgrades:
Struggled with the same dilemma, thats is till I found a lightly used A&A kit
I think what I really like about SC is the drive-ability factor, as mine is mostly a street car, with the extra (boost) horsepower on demand only when I want it....
Startin out simple, will be stock bottom end, but will upgrade valvetrain springs and such and probably the balancer. So not going for a ton of boost, probably in the 7-8 range...

What a deal, invest $6599 in your Corvette (and likely more to follow) and you decrease it's longevity and it's value at the same time. If you're not frequently on the race track, there and many better investments to be considered I'd ask for a lifetime loaner car!

Stock A4? Uh, I'd upgrade that too. As well as a converter, maybe 3K stall.

If you had a MN6, you would be good to go SC. However, your A4 won't be able to handle the power for long. You should add in the cost of a trany upgrade.

By that logic, why even buy a performance car like a corvette over a much cheaper/more reliable car like a corolla?
