I've had my c5z for 8 months and don't plan on getting read of it, but I would like to add a c6 gs for my wife. I'd rather have a ctsv for her but she loves all vettes.

Love my C5 and plan to keep it for a long time. It's got 13,500 miles so it will probably outlive me. It's paid for and makes me smile every time I get in it. I like C6's but just don't see enough difference to pay the price.

I've got other toys that I drive as daily drivers. 2001 Lightning and 2003 Thunderbird. Makes my Corvette that much more special.

There are only 3 cars I'd trade my C5z for and the time isnt quite right for any of them:

C6Z - For a similar mileage C6Z I'd have to fork out at least $15k. While it would be a nice upgrade, I dont feel it would be worth $15k.

GT-R (R35) - They are holding their value too well(and rightfully so). A decent used one would cost me more than I am willing to spend at the moment. I strongly suspect I will own one at some point though.

GT-R (R32)- Later this year the 89's will finally be over the 25 year old mark and legal to import into the US. I wont be the first to jump though. I'm going to wait and watch the initial rush of people importing them and see how it goes. If the government doesnt change the rules and all goes smoothly, I'll be selling my C5Z to import one and modify it to my liking.

Nope. Got my '04 Z last year with 17K on it. Plan to drive it for many more years (2nd car). Plan to buy a small 2nd home in Northern Italy by the end of the decade, and take along a low mileage ZR1 over there, where the Wife and I will spend half the year exploring Europe.

Why downgrade?

Now adding to the stable, I'd love a C6z next to my FRC.

Been discussed before, but, there was a gentleman in Pennsylvania
who had his ashes (urn), placed on the front seat of his C4 Corvette.
The car was then buried with his remains in it.

Also on a newspaper clipping on display at the NCM.

Not looking to sell a C5, but I have been looking at the deals on C6's.

A base C6 with MSRP of $51750 with discounts (dealer's negotiation, current promotional, Corvette loyalty, GM card, and a Private offer) would be out the door at $35435.

A new 2013 for $35k has me interested. Just not sure if I will pull the trigger, but my wife and I are talking about it.

Price to value/fun ratio just doesn't work for me (and my other hobbies).

I'll keep modding the C5.

Glad to see I am the only one planning to get a Viper! I love my C5 Z and I may still keep it but I cant stop thinking about SRT 10 coupes. To me, they're what dreams are made of. If I'm cool enough I'll be trackin' the vette' and cruisin' the vipe.

Have you ever driven one? They are not as great as people thing..
Most that have a Viper bought it so they can say "Look what I have". Believe it or not, Your Z should give the Viper a run for your money.
I Myself don't find them sexy at all, Kinda like a clown shoe.

Just my opinion and that is it and I am sticking to it..

Traded my 01 C5 in for an 08 Coupe. The 08 was nice but I personally like the hidden headlights and the interior of the C5. I ended up trading a Forum member my 08 for His 03 Z06.

I've gone through this scenario a dozen times...I always come back to keeping the C5. However, the market is beginning to open up nicely for other brands...if the C7 is just more of the same with souped up electronics I am keeping an open mind. The German cars are looking sportier than ever, and the new Mustang has exotic appeal now that the retro design is done. There's no telling what will come in the next couple years, but it all looks good for car enthusiasts.
