I'm looking to ship my vette from Georgia to Iowa. Gotten several quotes. Does anyone have any knowledge of Magic Carpet or Stateway auto transports? Appreciate any help.

Not sure on those 2, but I used Sunday Auto Transport which uses an enclosed trailer to ship my a supercharged 99 FRC from IL to CA and it went flawless. They are very professional and it arrived when they said it would in perfect condition. I paid $1600 a few years ago to have it shipped, that also includes it being insured.

I used Plycar when I had my new GRand Sport shipped from Maryland to Wisc. We are just outside of Dubuque Iowa and it was 1200.00. Highly recommend them

I used Magic Carpet one year ago, shipped a 93 40th anniversary from TN to AZ . Car was delivered in three days. No problem and would use them again ,they have great reviews and a BBB member.

This might already be obvious to the OP, but in the event it isn't, you DEFINITELY want enclosed trailer. Years ago and not having any experience with these things, I shipped a car from New York to California. It was not in an enclosed trailer. It arrived and it was dirty as hell. Not knowing any better, I signed the liability release that it was received okay and then after I washed it, found two nice dents in the hood which I ultimately had fixed at my expense.

I used Montway Auto Transport. It was brokered to an offline shipping company with an enclosed trailer from MO to CA. Great experience. $700 this past May.

I also recommend Plycon Group/Plycar and would use them again. We sold and shipped my wife's FRC from Long Island, NY to a Forum member in CA. Very professional and very careful. The entire transaction was seemless.

The bad thing about Uship is the good carriers get under bid and you get stuck with someone that just started out or someone thats equipment is so beat up you get a vehicle filled with oil at delivery.

At the end it comes down to the good ole saying you get what you pay for. The difference between $75 and $150 is a huge difference in the carrier you get at the end. On top of that I can get you on a carrier for probably cheaper than Uship and with an actual company rather than some guy hauling your Vette with scrap metal strapped behind it.

Definately use an enclosed transport...it's worth it.

A few years ago I had a rare, low mileage, pristine triple white '92 C4 convertible shipped from Texas to Indiana. Time was critical and the only transport available was an open auto transport. Somewhere along the way, they blew a hydraulic hose and covered the entire car with red oil. It was everywhere, and I was furious. The real issue was the white top...would I ever be able to get it clean without red stains on it? It cost nearly $200 to get the car professionally detailed and get the top cleaned. The transport company refused to pay for the cleanup and I had to threaten to sue them to get reimbursed.

Never again.

I like uship. I've used them a few times over the years. No problems and always the best prices.

Reliable Carriers has an excellent reputation, but the cost is probably at the high end. Many of the consigners at Barret-Jackson and Mecum use them.

I recommend going with an enclosed car hauler.

Relialble is good but pricey, I also recommend autoline transport, shipped my car from tx to ca for $899 enclosed in 3 days.

I used uship to have my 1985 C 4 shipped from near Syracuse NY to Long Island a distance of 250 miles. I met the guy on site the morning of load in, I got a covered trailer. Cost was around $650.00 and he met me at delivery point the same day. It was a good experience. But, I have heard good things about Plycar, and the are based here on Long Island. Next time on plan on using them

When I purchased/transported my C5 in April 2010 from Winchester VA to Omaha, I looked at Intercity, but ended up using FedEx Transport. The guys at Intercity were great, but after several days and phone calls, they couldn't give me a date that they could pick up my car. But like I said, the guys there are great and their service levels are well documented on this board.

For my experience...FedEx did an outstanding job! They gave me dates/timelines on my first call to them; they updated me each day either from dispatch, or from Gerald (the Driver) or both; and actually got it to me ahead of schedule!

Top shelf service and I'd contract with them again. A+ .

Good luck.
