Correct Kent Moore Flywheel Holding Tool?
Anyone have a picture of or can confirm the correct KM flywheel holding tool?
I ordered one from a vendor and this one showed up.
The service manual shows this one.
In the past I've just used the screwdriver-in-the-flexplate method for A4's and 5th gear, parking brake and brake mashed to the floor method for M6's, but I usually had a helper on those.
Anyone know which one is correct or if either or neither version will work?
TIA

I have the same one that you have a (top) photograph of.
My Kent Moore flywheel lock has engraved into it.....
J-42386-A
Kent- Moore U.S.A.
Kent Moore Flywheel lock tool is for GM LS motors.
J-42386-A
It's been setting in my tool box for if/when needed.
I haven't used it or looked at my Service manual for a comparison.

Patches,
I'd say, both can be used.
They probably have the same size mounting, hole centers.
I'd also say they both have the the K/Moore model #'s.
The one you & I purchased, uses the the long & shorter starter bolts.
The manual/book unit would use shorter bolts into the starter mount holes.
I believe the one shown in the manual would be a stronger unit & have less chance of breakage.
