Default Taillight screw hole plugs?

Has anyone come across a small black rubber plug or cap that fits snug in the brake light screw holes? I just put some matte black vinyl tint on the lights and the holes kind of stand out. The vinyl doesn't completely fill the holes either, so I'd just as soon cap them and not even have to worry about it. I figure something you may come across at Home Depot or the like that would snap or squeeze into the recess and stay in place with a rounded or flush top.

Home Depot has screw covers that will work.

Screw caps. Lowes has them in the specialty hardware section. I think they are the 6mm size. Less than $4 for all tail lights.

The ones you're looking for are the Hillman Hinged #4 and #6 covers...you can find them at lowes/home depot/hardware store.

Interesting, you've got the torx screws in your lights and mine have plain phillips head.

Personally I just repainted my screws gloss black.

I wonder why I don't have them then. My taillights are stock and original equipment as far as I can tell.

I changed the torx out for stainless steel Phillips head screws. Perhaps a previous owner made a similar switch on your car?

Red cars are faster. They did a study on it.

I have the phillips head ones in mine, but that's because they're the screws from the "flush tail light" kit I ordered a while back. I took out the offsets but just left the longer screws in place.

I got mine at Lowes. Pretty cheap mod.

I've got flush tail-lights, and noticed the silver screw heads stood out, so I painted them red with nail polish. Camouflages them pretty good, IMHO.

I also used the Hillman hinged screw covers on the tail lights and used a larger size on my license plate screws. The tail lights ones were a snug fit when i closed the cap to cover the screw so it might be a little tricky if i have to remove to change a bulb.

Ah, that's the answer right there. I have the flush tail lights too and had forgotten I changed out the screws when I installed the kit. I must be getting old...

I got them at Lowes. You need 4 packages for the taillights (Hillman hinged #4 & #6 Black H# 881025).

I also have them on my front and rear license plate screws. You need 2 packages of the larger style screw covers for the license plate screws (Hillman hinged 1/4 inch Black H# 881033).
