I don't much care for the stripes on it but I could probably live with them for a while.
25k for that low of miles and everything seems like a very fare price and I'd be all over that trade. I can see where you would struggle though since you like the vert. You could always do a convertible conversion on it. I wouldn't feel bad modding that car either. If future value concerns you, keep the oe parts and put it back to stock to sell it. Realistically, it wouldn't become a collectible car for at 40 more years if at all, and even then, were not talking about 100k car.
Good luck with your choice. I'm sure you'll be happy either way.

I bought mine more for the ECS forged engine/supercharger. I liked
the Lemans Blue, but was not sure about the stripe. After living with
the car a while, I love the stripe.
Very good price for the miles if it checks out.

if any c5 ever becomes collectible....which i doubt, it will be the z16. with the c6 it would be the z06 carbon. the carbon is even a nice low production car

[QUOTE=JaxEagle;1582553711]This is a two part thread, please respond to either or both.
I have always liked the 04 CE Z06. There were a ton made
Anyway, to my question... Does the striping on the Z16 look at all out of place to you?
Second part, I have the chance to buy a 10k mile Z16 for $25k. Even though there were a ton of Z16's made, they do seem to have a premium associated with them. The car I am looking at is totally stock. If I trade out of my vert I don't really want to give up the pleasure I have found in the hobby of modding my car. Would it be dumb to mod a 10k mile Z16? How many is a ton to you?
1. not out of place
2. up to a point. Change nothing that can't be changed back when U sell.
Z16 will be v. collectible

I have always liked the 04 CE Z06. There were a ton made but for whatever reason I like them. I like the blue. I like what the car commemorates. I like the idea of a racing stripe. I like that it is the last C5. Aside from a top-down vert, I like the FRC/Z06 profile best.
Anyway, to my question... Does the striping on the Z16 look at all out of place to you? I can't figure it out but my eye isn't totally comfortable with it. I love the colors. I am not sure whether the shape of the stripe detracts from the shape of the car's hood or what it is. Does the stripe need to be longer? More pointed? Wider? Is it just right? For somereason I think the stripe changes the look of the front of the car in a slightly negative way... but I like the idea of the stripe. Hmmm???

My car has over 60k miles and it is in great shape but I just don't feel quite as wrong modding a car with 60k+ mileage.

that's a sweet Z16. I used to think the striping looked great, but after seeing the striping on the 60th cars, it would have looked a lot better extended all the way down to the bumpers...just my 2 cents

I absolutely love the Z16 look. One of the best looking Corvettes ever. Sometimes things just come together perfect and to me the Z16 is one of those cars. Buy it.
