Default Is Dot 4 ok for track use?

I have an 01' Z, stock. It says on the brake fluid cap to use Dot 3 only but I was told to use 4 on the track.
What do you racers use?
Thanks guys!

DOT 4 for sure - check Ax/Roadracing section for lots of info and opinions as to brand preferences.

Yes, DOT4 is ok for track use (the advantage is that it has a higher boiling point than DOT3). Just don't mix DOT3 and 4. You'll have to do a complete flush, including the ABS. I just had mine done last week for a 2-day track event.

With the caveat that this is an expensive solution, flush the system with Castrol SRF. Very high boiling point with and without water absorbtion. I've had very good results with this.

Do the brakes with Castrol SRF, and you won't have to worry about it again for a long time, unless you see a lot of track time.

For your clutch, if you routinely apply the Ranger method to keep the fluid clean, then I recommend ATE Super Blue as a budget choice, and Wilwood 600 or Motul 600 as higher quality choices. The Castrol is too pricey IMO if you're constantly changing the fluid.
