Based on the picture, if it was my car I would just fix. The idea of gutting a good functioning door and putting it back together is just adding more potential problems. Also, with USAA if you ever have any issues with paint or fiberglass repair, it gets fixed at no cost to you. Let us know how everything works out.

WOW, I was under the impression that the door was really wasted, From looking at the picture I am sure a good body and paint shop can fix that up good as new, It is still a drag it happened.

In some states (like 2 I think) you can. One is Alabama I think ... Not 100% sure but its a southern state, dont remember if there was another or not. But if he knows who hit him he can go through the other insurance for dimished value, but its extremely hard to prove. I was at a dealer the other day looking for a GTO for my wife and there was obvious (to me being an adjuster) accident damage and they didnt move on any price and kept saying "clean carfax" in contrast to obvious damage I pointed out to them across the front and back. Cars are sold all the time with prior accident damage for the same amount as cars without, but most people never notice.

I thought Vettes came only with shells ... I might be wrong, I have only written a few doors for vettes over the years but usually fiberglass doors only come as shells.
