new Alpine INE-Z928HD Double Din installed
OK, so its been about 3+ yrs. of having to close my foldout Alpine (IVA-D310) so I could get heat/air from the center vent.
In that time I have researched most all possible choices for a DD setup. Having always been an Alpine fan, I wasn't very intrigued with their last few offerings so I've just kept hoping that Alpine would step up their game.
So a couple weeks ago I'm surfing around and come across their latest piece...the INE-Z928HD. It is the first 8" screen offered for the automotive industry. It has Bluetooth phone/Pandora/audio streaming from my Android phone (HTC Rezound), full navigation, DVD, etc. and I also added the Sirius/XM module to keep my Hair Nation and Boneyard music fix. I also figured since i was going this far, I might as well add the backup camera which is installed in the black anodized Alpine license plate frame.
So I contact my local Alpine dealer and car audio specialists and setup the purchase and install.
One week later, here is the before (monitor closed) and after result:
This unit is so freaking amazing and it fits right in with my PDX tri-amp setup and Alpine mids/tweets in the doors and the JL Audio sub in the Stealthbox.
peace,
Rich

thanks, Bluefire.....
thanks, Robesp.....not sure if it matters or not, but since they're not a vendor here and i respect Dennis @ DDMods and the others, i'd rather not say here. but you can search Alpine's website to get an idea of the cost of the pieces. (hint - it wasn"t cheap )
thanks, Chilliwack vettes
thanks, VETJAZZ.....extremely happy with the outcome.

Nice looking unit and looks like they did a very good install.

Holy ****!!! This looks soo much better than all of the current DD options. The only reason I haven't pulled the trigger yet is because I hate the way the DD bezel opening is smaller and doesn't match the opening of the a/c controls. This looks perfect!

Looks great, loving the 8" screen. Very nice, I loved my old Alpine 305 single din, they make great stuff. Glad to see they've stepped up their game with the Nav units.
How is the Navigation software?

as for the cost, the prices are public info, so as far as retail:
the unit - $1499, back up camera - $150, license plate frame - $50, sirius/xm module $80 and then install costs brought the tab to just north of $3K.
thanks again all for the compliments.
