I haven't heard of anyone doing this that I recall, but that's not to say it hasn't been done. Would be interesting to see if anyone has made a coupe into an FRC.

Back in '99, with reservations, my uncle ordered a coupe from the local dealership. After a couple days of more researching and pondering he went back and changed it to an FRC.
Sorry. I couldn't resist. Not the story you were looking for, but it is a true story.

Is it possible, sure...question is, why would you want to?
You would need: A-pillar drip rails + weather stripping...Roof (obviously)...FRC or Vert quarter panels...trunk lid...and probably a couple other things I'm missing....
But again, why waste the money?

For the OP, I think it would be a waste of money and would kill any potential resale value to start cutting into a coupe and turning it into an FRC. The trunk and interior trim alone would be costly. For a fraction of the price, you could sell, trade, buy into an FRC or Z06.

It is do-able, I have seen a Z06 with a hatch/targa converted on to it. It was on ebay. Alot of people thought it was a Z06 "Replica" But apparently the guy bought it and had the roof swapped.
I think it was a Z16 also

I don't have any pics of it off the car, it' has been on there for over Two years . It bolts on like the tonneau cover, and latches at the windshield.
Thanks, Walt
