Out of ideas...service column lock
I've been having the dreaded "SERVICE COLUMN LOCK" message lately. I've installed the Corvette's of Houston CLB and the Compliance Parts LMC5. I've also replaced the BCM relay. Nothings worked...same message. Any ideas?

Check with forum member 8VETTE7 - he seems to know quite a bit about the column lock issue.

I am not an expert at this and it's been a few years since I installed mine... You might want to pm 8VETTE7... He is great on this topic among other C5 queries... I would imagine you might need to go through the install again and maybe pull a few fuses... Never heard of it not working when installed properly.. Sorry I couldn't be more help but here's a bump..

I went the complianceparts route. I think they are a vendor here, at least that's how I found them. Their product looks easier then the others to install and can even unlock a column if you're already in that predicament. I say looks easier because I haven't received it yet. Check 'em out..

Have you tried calling Richard at compliance parts. They have a different type of device - LMC5R - to the regular LMC5. I got it and it cleared up the pull key message I got after installing the LMC5. Richard was extremely helpful. It seems like a small percentage of cars need the LMC5R instead, from what he said to me he had seen it happen most often with earlier year C5s.

Check the fuses. It was awhile ago when I had that issue but recall reading there are a few fuses and relays to check under the glove box. Can't recall which ones tho.

You might check the battery. It must have 120 reserve capacity. I put in the CLB, relay, and a new Interstate battery with the 120 reserve capacity, and i have not had a problem since.
