at this point, i'd probably wait to see the C7 before deciding what i would like to buy (that is stretching the point, because i don't plan on selling my 04 CE convertible). i couldn't ever embrace the C6 styling, so for me that wasn't ever an option, but i do have a lot of curiosity to see how bold they have decided to style the C7.
good luck with whatever you decide to buy. enjoy lots of safe miles with it.

high odds the c7 will be a cool car which should soften c6 prices a bit, doubt it will be a lot but the single worst time to buy a car is right before the new model appears.
if you want a c6 next spring, summer, fall, winter should have some good buys as many of the owners upgrade.
also what i'm doing. i've decided not to purchase until the c7 releases.

c6z is brutal. lot of good cars for sale too. but, the only thing i can say to anyone buying one is look at the cost of things if you break things
that engine is 17k to replace. an ls2 is 5k {both gm crate prices}
the ls7 also has a higher than average guide/valvetrain failure rate
brakes are also more expensive and so are the tires
so, as much as i thought "gee this is cool" riding around in one of my friends 2006 z06's be mindful of your finances before you buy
