Default What happened to my TPMS?/ Resolved but not Solved

I ran my car on the dyno yesterday. Previously I had gotten a low tire pressure warning, checked the pressures manually and did have two front tires at 27-28 lbs. Aired the tires up checked all four tires with a gauge and with the tpms and all was good. After the dyno run and shutdown I am getting a service the tire pressure monitoring system, check tire pressure warning in the DIC. When I check the pressures now, I get no readings on any wheel. The rear wheels were spinning at 140 mph @ 6000 rpm but of course the fronts were stationary. Doesn't seem likely that all 4 would just die at the same time. Anyone experience this or something similar???

Have not experienced your issue, but thought you might want to try to reprogram sensors as if you have installed new tires. You never know about electronics. Hope it helps.

At 27-28 psi, the low pressure message should not have come on - that usually happens when the pressure drops to around 25 psi and below. with trying to reprogram and see what happens. If the message reappears, you may have to dive deeper into the problem.

Try resetting then get them scanned if that doesn't fix it.

Having never checked for any codes in the 21 months I've owned the car, decided to clear them all and see what I get. I still receive the Service Tire Pressure Mont Sys, Check Tire Pressure, Service Vehicle Soon alerts on the DIC. In the codes area I am now only getting, BO RFA No Comm. When driving the car I am getting no readings from any senor. I have a FSM and I am reading but it is a little confusing. Any more ideas on what to do?

I'll have to drive the car to see if any codes return. I had the FSM in my lap while clearing the codes so I assume I did it correctly. Since this all came about right after a dyno pull I thought just clearing everything out might resolve the problem.

I drove the car this morning and checked the codes when I got back home.

40 BCM 2 codes

B2578 H
B2583 H

BO-RFA No comm

I tried resetting the tpm sensors and did not get past the left front wheel, horn didn't honk. I am going to pick up a new magnet and try once more later today. I still down understand the whole tpms system shutting down at once. It was working at 10 am and at 4pm the same day, nothing.

I still get Service TPMS Soon, Check Tire Pressures, Service Vehicle Soon at every start-up otherwise car performs as it should.

Resetting hasn't worked , what do you mean by scanned?

RFA is the receiver for FOB and TPM transmissions. RFA then sends signals over the serial data buss to the IPC, BCM and PCM. I suspect your FOB's don't work either.

My fob had been out of sync for a couple of months, so I reset it last night and it was working. Would or could a ground still be an issue? I can start rechecking the grounds if necessary, I have not touched them in my span of ownership.

In doing a search I found a post from 2009 with the exact same issues I have and the problem was resolved with a cleaning and tightening of the negative post on the battery. I have checked both my battery terminals and G104 ground on the frame next to the battery and I am still getting the same messages as before. I loosened and re-tightened the grounds on the frame rails behind the headlights on both sides with no change. I did not disassemble the ground pins from the connector as I didn't want to screw them up. I guess I will continue with checking other grounds unless someone can offer any other suggestions.

Problem resolved but not really solved. I thought I had read where some issues have self corrected by disconnecting the battery. So,since all my grounds have looked good I disconnected the battery positive and negative and walked away for a few hours. After I reattached the cables everything was back to normal. I guess that 6k rpm run on the dyno just upset the cars "nervous system" .
