If the sticker has a G92 code you have the 3.15 performance rear, if not the stock rear is 2.73 There were 12,882 made with 3.15 the rest 2.73s

You should also have a tag (more of a decal actually) on the differential cover that says what gears are inside. Mine has it - but over time it can become very hard to see what was printed on the tag. Best way is like Sonny71 mentioned.

If you want to know for sure, manual tranny 4th gear make a note of rpm you turn at a given mph, measure tire diameter ..then plug in the info into any of the online gear ratio converters available online.

Not sure which gear is 1:1 in an auto (3rd maybe?)

Seems like I remember that you put tranny in 3rd gear at 75 mph and divide the rpm's by 1000. I did that and it turned 2730 rpm which means I have the 2.73 in mine.

Check the RPO codes:

G90 Axle, Rear, 3.15 Ratio
G92 Axle, Rear, Performance Ratio
GU2 Axle, Rear, 2.73 Ratio
GU6 Axle, Rear, 3.42 Ratio

My 02 A4 Vert came with 3.15 ratio
