I also use Stoner Invisiable Glass with the hospital type blue surgical cloths ,they are also lint free. MF cloths leave fine particles from the cloth. I also have a roll of Newspaper without the ink. Go to your local Newspaper printer office and buy a parcial unused roll.. Its cheap!!!

I agree that this is one of the best way; bright sun beaming thru the glass. If I don't do it this way there seems to be smudges/film that I have missed.

Funny, I didn't notice this 30 years ago????

Stoners. After seeing how well it works for my cars I now use it for anything made of glass.

Of course RainX on exterior windshield!!
I just made a batch of this to do the outside windows on the house. I wound up making half a pail (too much) so I did all the cars also. It worked great

The biggest culprit is the cleaner you use and actually the plastics and glue they use to install leather and vinyl.

I heard that many years ago but didn't pay much attention to it until I quit smoking in my cars. Film still came.
I agree. I don't use any dash protectant, and still get the film. I'm a cheap screw and use a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and ammonia in a spray bottle. Wipe with paper towels.

I've found that over the years, almost any window cleaner will move around the road oils, smears and contaminants. The way you remove those contaminants from the window is where a clean window comes from. I've found that Coffee filters, designed to remove the bitter oils from coffee grounds are the best take off media for windows. I can use a dozen different window cleaners with a few coffee filters and get good results.. If I use the same window cleaners with anything other than a coffee filter, I'm just moving around the oils. Sure the window is cleaner, but it takes more passes than I want with a micro fiber towel or a cotton towel... the next best thing to coffee filters, in my opinion is news paper.

Then just add a mist of Adam's Detail Spray and buff, and your windows will really POP!

Default There isnt much that is secretive about window cleaner

window cleaner is not rocket science. If there was a magic bullet in the window cleaning arena, everyone would have it. Truth is, they are all about the same.. there isn't one out there that blows away the competition.. most sales are driven by advertising , packaging and hype. Non of these formulas are top secret , so if anyone found anything magical, everyone would have it. My source would be the senior chemist ( a close friend ) at Bullen Chemical company, the largest commercial cleaning supplies manufacturer in the country.

I have used Griots Glass Cleaner for 13 years. They recently came out with a new Foaming Aerosol that I really like better... http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...ortby=ourPicks

The real secret is in what you use to remove the cleaner. For that I use...
http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...ortby=ourPicks

then follow up with a microfiber cloth as a final polish to remove any remaining residue.
