I'm sure there are some of the first 100 C5s produced still on the road, but I sure do not have one.

I have one...it is a 'pilot car'...was built the first day of production in October, 1996....we think it was the 29th. VIN is 100098....supposedly the first 35 or so cars were not sold to the general public, so my car is somewhere around number 60 of the salable units. There are others on the forum also built the first day...at least 3 that I've seen over the years.

were not the Pilot cars or mules with X serial numbers all crushed or put in the storage?

Pilot or mules were not for public use or public sale.

my first "97" was either #40 or 400 but I can't remember which. it was the first one sold in Virginia Beach and i bought it off the original owner. It was white with firethorn red interior. its the one in the avatar.

The factory tested them early in the run, then sold thru auction or to dealers as slightly used...
